We Celebrated a Family Birthday with Brunch

It didn't start off well, but after returning a 'dead' fruit salad, the three of us were quite pleased with our meals. The ambiance is lovely. I celebrated many family birthdays and anniversaries there in the past and look forward to doing so again in the spring for the outdoor seating is... read more

We go here for special events in the family or with friends, and we love the antique environment and atmosphere.

This is not your typical "inn" restaurant. The food is innovative and the menu changes. The chef and owner loves his work and it shows. If you are looking for amazing food, go here. You will not be disappointed!

We celebrated my wife's birthday dinner last night at the Altnaveigh Restaurant. The entire evening was outstanding...starting with the cocktails...appetizer....entrée...dessert. Our server (Jennifer) was a complete professional. We thought that the night before New Years would be slow....wrong! The restaurant was filled to capacity. Being a local, we have dined here many times in the past. My only regret is... More

Finding a lost Gem Review of The Altnaveigh Inn Restaurant in Storrs Connecticut November 26, Thanksgiving 2015 I discovered the Altnaveigh Inn during Graduate School in the eighties. It had been ten years since my last visit to this historic Inn located in Storrs Connecticut. My last visit was a major disappointment. Shabby décor, food, and service. However, I had... More

The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Prices moderate. Not too far from Henrietta House. Has outdoor seating and very close to UCONN.

My wife and I wanted to have dinner at the Altnaveigh Inn during a conference at the University of Connecticut. Our only available evening was a Thursday (June 25, 2015), following an excursion to Mystic Harbour. We knew the restaurant was not open earlier in the week. We also did not make reservations, since we were unsure of the return... More

A group of six of us had dinner after my daughter graduated from UConn. We arrived a few minutes early, were seated right away and ordered drinks. Very nice, well kept B&B. Limited menu but what they had was appealing. They forgot one of our pre-dinner salads and were slow to serve this person. Surf and Turf and stuffed shrimp... More

We had a perfect meal to top our perfect day. Our son graduated from UConn today, Mother's Day, and many family members were joining us. A friend recommended the Altnaveigh Inn and said the restaurant is nearby in a lovely historic setting, and the food is delicious. The owner, Gail, couldn't have been more accommodating when I called in January... More

Fine dining in a beautiful 1700's home turned into a restaurant and auberge. All the food I have ever eaten here was first class and the wine selection is also very good. Always the best choice to take mom and dad, out-of-town guests, a date or just for something more than the usual casual fare around the University campus. I... More
