To anyone reading this review please understand I did extensive research to arrive at choosing the Altnaveigh Inn as the location to take my girlfriend for our 2nd anniversary. I must stress how important a quality detailed review from someone who has taken the time to really take in the establishment where they are dining in all it has to... More

My wife and I dined at the Altnaveigh Restaurant last Saturday night for the first time and were thoroughly impressed. From the warm welcome through a top notch dining/culinary experience, we will be sure to come more often. The menu has something to offer for all palettes and all items are very reasonable, especially for the quality of the food.... More

WE ate there for new year's eve and it was wonderful, so when our friends asked us where I wanted to go for my birthday, I told them Altnaveigh and we did no two Saturday's ago. As usual the owner was extremely cordial and pleasant and you certainly got the impression on entering that this was "her baby" and that... More

We eat here about twice a year and the food is always the best. Great ambiance but I do agree with some of the other posts that the service is lacking a bit. Got our salads and appetizers in a timely fashion but then waited 35 minutes for the main course. Think the waitress forgot about us. Not a big... More

We ate here several months ago and looked forward to our return. This time around didn't go nearly as well. Service was extremely slow, we went well beyond a "leisurely pace" to "ok I'm ready to go." I feel bad saying it because everyone was friendly. But how behind can the kitchen be? The food didn't dazzle us like last... More

We dined at Altnaveigh on New Year's Eve. The restaurant was full and while the food was excellent the service was not. The waitress appeared quickly to take our order, barely giving us time to review the menu and forgetting to mention any specials. Our water glasses were continually filled by the busboy but we didn't have the same experience... More

Just a short distance from the UCONN campus this inn's restaurant makes you feel like you are up in Vermont at the classic country inn. Nice selection of food and wine served by a great staff. On the Saturday night we went there was an live guitarist/singer with a great range of music.

The staff at the Altnaveigh Inn welcomed me and immediately solved two major issues with grace. Then, dinner arrived for me and my friend of over 40 years. We have eaten spectacular meals all over the world and agree that the Altnaveigh ranks with the best. The salmon, sea bass, vegetable plate, coconut shrimp, salad, and POPOVERS! were all excellent.... More

We have been coming to Altnaveigh for 8 years while our daughters attended UCONN. Our family celebrated many occasions here from Family Weekend to Easter to graduation... Wonderful memories. We have been away for the past 2 years but visited on Saturday night for a special birthday dinner. The food was exceptional as was the service and the ambience....Ramon's music... More

We recently dined here with a large group of friends. The entire party commented on how delicious the food was - appetizers, salads, dinners and desserts. Everything is individually prepared and was cooked perfectly. The service was phenomenal. Our waiter - Andrew - was attentive and personable. The atmosphere was perfect and the music - solo guitarist - was a... More
