What a disappointment! Previously enjoyed lovely and delicious meals upstairs. This was our first time in French restaurant downstairs. We had a reservation, but it took 3 hours to complete our meal. We were so hungry waiting for the appetizers and our main course that we ate three baskets of bread (which fortunately was tasty.) It was sort of busy,... More

We come to Cavey's fairly often; at least a half dozen times per year. We usually eat upstairs in the Italian restaurant, but also enjoy the French downstairs. It's consistently great food. We love the atmosphere, and the wait staff is friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. If you want to go somewhere where you know you will have an excellent dining... More

We went here with friends while visiting the Hartford area. It's one of their favorite restaurants and we enjoyed being there with them. The food was outstanding. The next time we're in the area, we'd definitely like to return. Even though it was late on a weeknight, the staff was attentive and the chef came out to greet our friends.... More

We walked into Cavey's Upstairs, their Italian Dining Room, Friday evening at 6:30 without reservations but were quickly seated at a nice table for two. The dining room is elegant and service was very good though not outstanding. By the time we finished they were pretty full. My wife had veal picata and I had beed fillet. Both were good,... More

Failed to expect us despite a reservation. Half of the menu was not available. Disaster... For a 50/person charge, you expect good service and some preparation. Avoid it!

The owners of Caveys are like family, as are the wait staff and bar staff.Kate and Steve are so hands on and make you feel like family. We frequent the restaurant weekly. and last Saturday had a family celebration with almost 40 people. We had the entire front room which has such beautiful ambience, the food was outstanding. Most of... More

Simply wonderful food; great service and understated but very nice ambience all mix well with a wine list to die for. I stay in Manchester a few days each month and visit Cavey's for dinner on at least half of those visits. I prefer the upstairs , Northern Italian offerings but the very upscale French restaurant downstairs rivals anything in... More

This review is about their 5 small plate Tuesdays. Be sure to order bread because the 5 small plates are just a mouthful or two. The food is incredibly creative; sign up for their mailing list to get the notice with the full menu. The wine is presented by the importer and are usually entertaining and informative. These are not... More

I've eaten upstairs and down and even once or twice had a bolognese course delivered to our downstairs table! Simply wonderful... all of the time. I have business in town and visit Cavey's at least twice each month. I also dine at many of the other local places and this is undoubtedly the best choice. A wine list to die... More

Read if you are planning a visit. So last night we went to Cavey's for our anniversary dinner (Italian side). I wanted everything to be extra especial so I made reservations over two weeks ago, explained the occasion and requested a nice table. I know the restaurant got the request because shortly after receiving an email acknowledgement someone called me... More
