Warmth in the food, service, and atmosphere

This cafe is part and parcel of the RJ Julia Bookseller experience. If you visit the bookshop for a lazy day of browsing when no event, author signing, or workshop is happening, you will most likely find an open table. If any of those things is happening, however, you may have to wait if you want a... read more

My daughter and myself have been wanting to go here for some time now. We moved into town late 2013 and have heard nothing but great things. So at last, we decided to give it a try. The bookstore itself is very cute and cozy... I would say that I wish there was better seating. There were 2 wobbly wooden... More

I have visited this cafe several times. The food is innovative and delicious! The lobster mac and cheese is to die for ! The service is excellent as well. I am a big fan of books and the location behind RJ Julia booksellers is awesome! In nice weather there is seating on the patio which is lovely. The coffee and... More

There was not one thing to not like~ the menu choices were so varied and interesting. I had a real hard time choosing from the soup, salad or sandwich options. Really, gooey grilled cheese, with arugula and other great stuff not usually put into a grilled cheese sandwich? Or the special: a pressed pannini with lobster, two kinds of cheese... More

Though the bookstore is small and just average for an independent bookstore, the little café serves delicious lunches, made with high-quality ingredients and care. There are many items on the menu. The seating area is small, so there can be a little wait, but at least there is something to look at in the store. This will always be my... More

The bookstore alone is worth the trip. Old fashioned ambiance and run by serious readers. Loved the reviews posted by the staff. Now for the food. Tucked away in back of the bookstore a tiny restaurant with interesting takes on lunch fare. We had a sensational flat bread veggie pizza with olives and capers, a salad with frisée, pears, good... RJ Julia's is an amazing independent bookstore but not every visitor sees its little cafe that has a lovely patio. Of course, it overlooks a parking lot but so do several other coffee shops. The coffee is good, food is fresh and service is efficient and friendly. Noboby is rushed so there can be a wait for a table. It's... More

Food is always fresh and tasty. Service very friendly. I love this place. The only problem is it's not big enough!
