Took my wife for her birthday dinner. Very easy to walk to on the main street in town. Delicious food, gracious staff, hand-selected wine list.
We wend here for a date night dinner away from the kids. Very nice menu, good food and service. We were surprised it was not busier considering it was 7pm on a Saturday. Odd. Definitely check it out if you are in the area.
I've been coming here with family for about 5 years now - whenever I'm visiting family along the shoreline in CT, we make at least one trip to Elizabeth's. I must have eaten here at least 40+ times now, most often for dinner but also for lunch and brunch. I see another recent reviewer is not a fan of the... More
I have dined at Elizabeth's for lunch and dinner. The hostess is very friendly and recommended my mother and I very nice wine. Our meals were delicious and the salad tasted very fresh. Another day, my friend and I both had great lunches. It's cute, quaint, and the food is outstanding.
Four of us had dinner Saturday night at Elizabeth's Cafe - a long-standing establishment in Madison on the Post Road. The interior entrance area has been renovated and is open and welcoming. The dining room remains charming. The staff was plus quam perfectum and the meal was outstanding. How lucky we are to have this gem in town!
Good food, decent place. We keep coming back as locals but are reminded each time that the service is uneven, harried and sometimes unfriendly. Not for families. Best for seniors and singles.
Over from UK on business trip and wanted to find typical but not over the top brunch. This place was the best find - utterly delicious food, well priced but really beautifully cooked. Great choice of menu and nice staff. Delicious coffee. Had poached eggs on smoked salmon - not the uncooked type from UK but a lovely chunky piece... More
Dropped in for a late bite to eat. A couple tables were available. The wine list was extensive and had many by the glass options. We weren't too hungry so we got a little something. My salad was excellent. Fresh and just the right size. My mom got one of the specials. The chicken was moist and tender. The only... More
We were on our way to Old Saybrook and decided to try lunch at Elizabeth's Café. Had trouble finding a parking place until we discovered there is parking behind the restaurant. The waiter was fun and prompt with our food. The food was very good. We each had 1/2 tuna fish sandwich and a cup of New England Clam Chowder.... More
I dropped in on a Friday night without a reservation and got in. Squished at a tiny table by the window I was wondering how another person could have possibly fit at this table set for two! However - the service was wonderful. I had the celeriac soup which was fresh and tasty, and the lemon pappardelle was very good.... More
