Neither a "cafe" nor a "$$" menu

Lovely atmosphere, the food we had was delicious, the staff friendly and attentive. But don't let the "$$" rank on TripAdvisor or "Cafe" in the name fool you, this is an upscale restaurant with prices to match. Looking for upscale and spending $50 each for 2 courses not counting wine? Plan a visit... read more

Well...we have dined here numerous times before, and every time it keeps slipping...but this is the end of the road for us...we won't be back. We walked in for lunch...2 woman were to the left on the cash register...who never acknowledged us as we stood there waiting for a hostess...feeling invisible... finally one of the woman announced to us...'go seat... We eat regularly at Elizabeth's Cafe for both Sunday brunch and dinner.. Food and service is always outstanding.. Can bring your own wine if you wish and be charge a small corking fee. The only small criticism is that they don't take American Express however do take Master Card. Recommend highly....... A must try.

My wife and I had dinner at Elizabeth's the other night (on a Monday) and while the food was quite good, wethougt it was pricey. We had entrees only. This restaurant is in an old house and right on US Rte 1. Parking is in the rear or on the street. The inside is attractive and the "house's" old wood... More

Beautiful charming restaurant in downtown Madison, Connecticut. Great entrees, reasonably priced and real comfort food. Always nice when the owner comes to your table to check on you. Service attentive but not intrusive.

We had breakfast on a Sunday morning. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. They have a good selection on the menu. We ordered eggs benedict florentine, and a spinach, mushroom and swiss omelet. We were served quickly, and both entrees were hot and delicious. The prices were reasonable, the atmosphere was warm and comfortable.

My husband and I were staying at the nearby Scranton SeaHorse Inn for our Valentine's Day escapade, and we had dinner at Elizabeth Cafè, like last year, thus starting our own tradition. The meal was impeccable, which is rare, and on Valentine's Day, which is nearly impossible. We had wonderful appetizers, the asparagus with mushrooms and the pesto burrata, together... More
