Elizabeth's Cafe has been serving some of the best food in Southern CT for years--the quality of the food is excellent--on a par with Bar Bouchee in Madison, Cafe Routier in Westbrook and River Tavern in Chester. The wine list is well-chosen (we had a great Gruner Veltliner), the service is wonderful, and the ambiance is comfortable and welcoming. Last... More

Whether we show with or without a reservation, we are treated with friendly greetings and remembered from our last visit. Great food and service in a comfortable setting. We will go again, of course!

Had dinner here on advice of the inkeeper of our B&B. Our entrees were somewhat large, wontons and calamaris, would advice to choose one and share. Main course for me was a shrimp/ vegetable taco which was delicious and fresh. My husband had strawberry shortcake for desert, I had cappucino, which was called like that but was a big mug... More

Had a lovely late lunch at this place. The soups are excellent and the quesadilla was superb. Good cappuccino as well.

Lovely hostess, good food, takes forever, grumpy waitress! What can I say? If you want a good meal in Madison you have to put up with a few inconveniences!!

Madison has relatively few restaurants so to say that Elizabeth's is the best is to place it in context. It has charm and a range of prices as well as excellent food. The space is small so the noise level can be disturbing. It's the luck of the draw on that issue. The food never disappoints and the specials really... More

I was feeling under the weather but had a houseguest. We ordered dinners from Elizabeth's to take home. The food was good but so overpriced that I will not go back there ever again. Nothing is that delicious.

We had a fantastic dinner on Valentine's Day, which is harder. The quality of the food was outstanding. My free-range chicken was great. My husband had the salmon, also cooked to perfection. But the desserts alone are worth the visit... fantastic. A very romantic spot, recommended for romantic dinners.

Lovely, cozy atmosphere! I enjoyed lunch here with a couple of friends. The food is quite good. I had a BLT with avocado. The ingredients were fresh and nicely presented. My companion had a quiche and salad she really enjoyed and our other friend had a fantastic clam chowder. My friends dine here a lot, and say the food is... More

While we live 50 miles away, we're often in the area and love to eat at Elizabeth's Café. Before making a reservation last evening, we checked reviews of a number of restaurants. We were concerned about the recent poor reviews of Elizabeth's Café, but chose this proven restaurant. The food was good as always and the service was excellent. Whatever... More
