We are probably in the minority on this rating, since this place does an incredible business. While the service was very speedy and polite, the food was disappointing. The clam chowder had little taste or character, the lobster roll, french fries and cole slaw were boring. Best choice was the fish sandwich. I guess we'll stick with Cape Cod for... more

This place is a must if you're visiting Madison for the first time. It is what it is...fried seafood and lobster rolls served fast food style. Indoor/outdoor seating. I love their fried clam strips. Be forewarned, during peak summer months you'll be waiting b/c the place gets packed. more

I took the kids after a long day of chasing the jelly fish swimming along Hammonnassett Beach. the hot lobster roll is just wonderful, I can't imagine anything tastier! Lenny & Joe's is the best family restaurant on CT's east shore. Their fried seafood is lightly battered, and their hot lobster rolls are to die for! In addition, the owners have a social conscience -- the proceeds from their carousel at the Madison location go to various local charities. The freshest seafood fried in a light batter to perfect doneness! Served up fast and fresh to a crowd that dines on the picnic tables outside under the shade tree.
