I have dined here several times and one thing I will say is that the owner is always very friendly and the food is usually good....Saying that, I ordered a cucumber martini during my last visit. It was plain vodka with some cucumbers in it. They were not muddled, No cucumber vodka. I have bartended for 12 years and to... More

I hate being rushed in a busy restaurant and love the atmosphere along with attentive service at this location. One of my favorite things here is how the wait staff always makes sure to keep things evenly paced. But the best part of the food is that there is always something new and fresh. Such as the fresh side dishes.... More

They were swamped when we got there, so maybe it could have been better. Nice looking place. The poor waitress was swamped but did a good job in spite of it. The problem was the food. Mediocre. The chowder was full of dill, the fish was in a puddle of butter, my husbands fish and chips had sat too long... More

Hi Martha - Thank you for giving Saltwater a try! Also, thank you for taking the time to post a review! We do apologize for the experience you had. It wasn't our best showing. We were a little overwhelmed in a very short period of time and this caused us to have a few setbacks. We sat over 150 in... More

Since the new owners have been taken over I have been inundated with emails telling me about all the special events they have I. e. Monday night of fortuneteller, Sunday jazz, wine tasting dinner, cigar smoking dinner, and on and on. One thing they haven't emphasized is the food and at probably because they know it's just terrible. We thought... More

Edwin - First, thank you for the sincere feedback. I can see that you invest significant thought and time into your reviews. My apologies for the disappointing experience you had last night. While I can't defend what happened to you, we had about 100 people on the patio and served more than 200 dinners in 90 minutes last night which... More

Building interior top shelve. However the clams were not up to par as they had entirely too much filler and no flavor. Secondly quality not quantity should be the way to go. As to my order of Crab cakes there was no evidence of any lump crab and again too much filler and no moisture at all. My wife's fish... More

Doubleh - Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. Our crab cake is 50% lump crab but it can be overpowered by the sweet potato which has a strong flavor. We do try to not put too much in our mashed potatoes as some folks like less butter and some like more. We have been... More

We stopped there for lunch. Service was very nice, but a little on the slow side, but generally good and attentive. We got a cheese board for the table, which was a little disappointing. Three types of cheeses, brie, gorgonzola, and chevre. Many times when I've had cheese boards there has been more variety than that. I got their sandwich... More

Rob - Thank you for taking the time to review. We appreciate it! We are working on service and have had some thoughts about expanding the cheese board offerings as well to make it more of a selection based on taste. We hope to see you back again soon! Best, Andy More

We had not been here since the change of management two years ago. Service was so agreeable, salad simple and perfect, wine by the glass appropriate and lobster with drawn butter among the best - ever. Service between courses a little slow. Dinner was a total success.

My husband and I try a lot of new restaurants. Usually they are good--but this one was EXCELLENT! We had spent the day in Litchfield and asked locals for recommendations and the majority said Saltwater Grille. We stopped in without a reservation on a Saturday (it was about 5:30) and although they were booked full later, found a way to... More

I stopped in at the Grille for lunch with my daughter and she was really taken with the atmosphere and decor of the bar area where we dined. I had been there previously and knew what to expect and was not disappointed !
