Laotian, Not Thai

While Thai food is served at this restaurant, along with some Vietnamese and Japanese dishes, this is a Laotian restaurant. But both the Laotian and Thai food are exceptional. I would, however, stay away from the Vietnamese and Japanese dishes because they aren't authentically prepared. I took a... read more

A 1950s chrome diner meets Thai restaurant. This was one of my best dinners in Hartford! I had the Green Curry with Chicken and it was delightful. I only wish I was not traveling and could have take the left overs home. A great place!

Food is good, service can be slow, but not unbearable. Maybe just because I was hungry. Tried several items and wasn't disappointed. Getting out of the parking lot can be a pain, especially during rush hour, but this place is worth a try.

Have been for lunch a number of times and we are always very satisfied great selection of Thai and Lao food, and each new choice is as good as the last. Always freshly cooked and served by a super friendly staff. The women who is the owner chief is often out and talking to customers and making sure they are... More

Our family does not do brunch or breakfast out very often, so last Sunday we decided to venture over to the East West Grill for a special treat. East West was packed and the staff was pretty busy, so it took a little while to get a server, which is part of the reason I gave it only 3 stars.... More

Don't let the building fool you. It is a 50's diner that's been converted into a great Asian restaurant. The menu is based on thai and Lao dishes. I had lunch there with a vegan colleague who said it was some of the best Asian food he's had. I agree !

This restaurant looks like a diner! Don't be fooled by outward appearances! Very high quality Thai food, and friendly service also. The diner type setting makes it a little more quirky, and all the more enjoyable. Don't have a great knowledge of Thai food to compare it with, but all I can say is that it was tasty and seemed... We frequently eat at Thai restaurants back home in Florida, so when we saw this listing we had to try it. Quirky 50s type diner setting and great authentic Thai food. We particularly enjoyed the live Thai music during dinner. We'll be back the next time we're in town.

They are very nice people, family oriented operation. It's a bit sweet side on any sauces and portion is very nice and full. It's hard to go to a big group since it is renovated diner cart.

Residents of the Hartford area are fortunate -- there are a number of good Asian restaurants in town. But for our money, this is the best! The food is wonderful - our absolute favorites include the egg noodle soup, pad see ew and pad woonsen -- from start to finish! Add to that tremendously good and welcoming service -- one... More
