Really enjoyed this place during a recent business trip. All the food and drinks we ordered were great. We shared 2 appetizers among the three of us and had 3 different entrees. All were delicious and filling. We ordered all 4 different main course sides as they all looked interesting, and they were all delicious (corn, mushroom, potatoes and brussel... More

We had a great meal at Firebox. The food was different and exquisite, especially the heirloom tomato salad, the cast iron duck and the beet cake!! The wine list was great and we had a house special for an opening cocktail that was perfect - not too sweet, fall spices made it very interesting. We drove home wondering why it... More

I rarely rate restaurants, and usually only to warn people to stay away -- but I can't say enough good things about our dinner at Firebox. Very knowledgable and attentive staff --our server was friendly and informative about both the menu and the wine list without hovering. Every bit of food brought to our table was delicious, from the CT... More

My wife had the swordfish special, which she said was delicious. I had Fried Eggplant, which is an understated name for this wonderful vegetarian dish: Baby bok choy, beefsteak tomato, sunflower seeds, ricotta salata, red torpedo onion, and lightly breaded heirloom eggplant with a roasted tomato vinaigrette. It may sound busy, but it had just the right balance of flavors... More

We took a break from a show at the Webster to sit at the bar and have a snack and drink. Such a pretty space, and quite large with 3 rooms. Besides providing a nice experience, the bartender told us they give back to the community which is commendable. The menu is a little pricey and not as many items... More

Locally sourced food, well prepared is the organizing principle here. The appetizer choices were very good with an excellent cheese plate and tasty corn chowder with a bit of pancetta crumbled in. The house margarita was delicious and a little spicy; my rye manhattan was well balanced. The wine selection is excellent; the house cabernet sauvignon was rich. The lavender... More

Tonight was our first visit to Firebox, but it will not be our last. We loved the atmosphere - the exposed brick, high ceilings, interesting artwork - as well as the knowledgeable, pleasant wait staff, and our meals were excellent! Service was prompt, though we never felt rushed. They accommodated our severe and less severe food allergies without batting an... More

I love to come here with my girlfriends after a day at the office. This place is cool, the atmosphere is laid back but trendy! The appetizers are to die for! Everything is so fresh. The Potato leek soup is my faveeeee. I will definitely be back! Drink specials are always well thought out and always help get me thru... More

While traveling to college, my daughter and I were looking for a restaurant with fresh, contemporary food, similar to that which we can get in our hometown of San Francisco. We found that at Firebox. While reading about the restaurant, I was almost turned off by the emphasis on farm to table, thinking it was something other than just fresh,... More

Firebox is my #1 choice whenever near Hartford. They have always provided for a great dining experience, with great food, atmosphere and staff. This trip I had a wonderful corn chowder followed by a duck breast. How can you not have a Long Island duck breast when the locally sourced farm is on Long Island? They did a great job... More
