A stone throw from the Mark Twain/ Beecher Stowe house it is a nice place to have food/drink after the visit. The staff was very friendly, the service was quick, the food was delicious. They have a terrace but it can get a bit noisy as it is on street front. We had the brunch menu (cobblestone were a big... More

Great little spot on the West end of Hartford. The "Cobblestones" are yummy little Philadelphia steak and cheeses with a touch of barbecue sauce on sourdough rolls. Wonderful. My husband enjoyed their eggs Benedict. Wonderful adaptation of bananas foster served with Jamieson's and vanilla ice cream. Just wonderful. Great selection of beers, cocktails etc.

Irish-style pub with quality organic burgers. We went here for lunch before visiting the Mark Twain house, which is around the corner. The neighborhood seems poor and ethnic, which makes it surprising to have this type of restaurant located here. I guess the locals go to the Subway next door. Good place for lunch / brunch. Beware of the size... More

Making out with a beautiful woman and drinking scotch at the Half Door. Years had and would continue to go by and we'd see each other a every once in awhile as it was our style; but when I realized that nothing would ever become of us, I felt something fragile inside my soul snap like a twig. That night... More

Great beers on tap and good burgers. Really do you need a whole lot more than than? OK, parking would be nice, but sometimes you have to hoof it a block or two to get something worthwhile.

After many years of driving through Hartford we decided to stop and check out some of the attractions. We wanted a nice spot for lunch close to the mark twain house and this was a great pick. Friendly spot, good food, reasonable prices and lots of beer on tap.

My favorite local bar. Absolutely the best selection of beer from around the world. Taps change regularly and demonstrate a sophisticated taste for a broad spectrum of international suds. Freshest pint of Guinness in Hartford. Great clam chowder. I've never been there at night but I'm told it is a very popular spot..

I love going to the Half Door for their game nights, or just for drinks. There's a nice little patio for smokers. My problem is the one time I ordered food, the fish and chips, it was way way too salty. The side order of fries does come with some sort of curry sauce which is good. Go for beers,... More

Picked this place as a central point for meeting Boston and NYC friends and it was a great choice. They have an awesome selection of beer but what really sold me was their amazing food. How many bars do you know with a good drink list AND an amazing menu? I had the chicken pot pie and it was to... More
