Good hot dogs!

Small place that you can get to from Main Street or Pratt Street. We each had the Deputy Dog which were on nicely grilled buns. The deputy dog is a hot dog topped with pulled pork and cheese. They were very good and very filling. Also had some tasty fries. We stopped after a UCONN basketball game... read more

This review has nothing to do with the food. I was visiting Hartford last week and planned to go to Woody's so I checked their website 2 weeks ago to get the hours. Their site indicated they closed at 3:00 everyday, but also indicated there are expanded hours in the summer. Since I was not able to get to downtown... More

I loved this little hot dog shop. The hot dogs were amazing and is a must while traveling through Hartford. The only downside to this place was that it closes at 3pm on weekdays. If you can make it in time, it will be an experience well worth your money. I recommend the Deputy Dog (but so will everyone else).... More

Don't let GPS fool you....No outdoor signage in Downtown Hartford....but if you find it (and hours are short most days)....WOW>.....Get the Deputy Dog to go for the tradition but all the dogs we tried were awesome.....The toppings are the cherry on a great sundae of quality meat and well toasted roll....MUST DO if you are a "dog person"!!!

Here you will get some of the most unusual hot dogs you can find, but all of them taste great. Not too many places toast hot dog buns any more, but Woody's does not cut any corners. They also have a bar area that is nice, but never took off. It looks more like a man cave. The hardest part... More

Had a regular hot dog for lunch and then a deputy dog for dinner. Curly fries were also great. Loved it.

If you want to enjoy a quality dog with unique and creative combos, this is the place to be...my new favorite is the Mac Daddy (dog topped with mac&cheese and bacon)...HUGE APPETITE A MUST!

Woody's is known for their hot dogs, and on this basis alone is worth the trip; Foot-long dogs are made to order with any number of toppings. The reuben dog and underdog were especially good. This is a no-frills, cash-only joint with lots of history and an oddly placed, if sincere, miami dolphins-themed bar adjoining. It's hard to recommend for... More

I visited Woody's because of recommendations from friends in Connecticut. They knew I loved pulled pork and informed me that I had to have a Deputy Dawg. Pulled pork, footlong dog, bbq sauce, and cheese..he'll yeah! Woody's was worth the stop.

I had the fish and chips which was nothing special. I guess it would have been better if I had gotten a hot dog which I hear they are good at. It definitely wasn't the fish and chips.
