I went here for a business dinner and the ribs were very good however the sides need a little bit to be desired. The salad with the cornbread croutons was amazing. Probably one of the best salads I've ever had

Got into town a little late for dinner (8:30PM) but wanted to get something to eat. Had some BBQ at Black Eyed Sally's which was really solid. They had a live band playing in the other room which was a great back drop. Service was a little spacy as I had two waitresses asking me the same questions - but... More

Music was pretty good - not Memphis maybe, but you're in Hartford after all. I had the pulled pork sandwich, which was great. Salad was good, too. Somewhat stale were the homemade chips that came with the sandwich. Table service was slow (they appeared to be under-staffed), so I ate at the bar. Bartender did a nice job even though... More

It was Husband Appreciation day! We got seated right away and received our drinks. I enjoyed the sweet cornbread. We ordered sweet potato fries which were served hot (We did have to wait for 900 wings to be made - the server was apologetic). My husband had the Southern Fried Chicken (which was hot), and it was very salty. I... More

This place has it all- great food, great ambience, and great music. If you like southern-style comfort food, (ribs, chicken, dirty rice, etc.) this is the place! Large portions, good drinks, and music to boot! A definite must if you're visiting Hartford, CT!

called for reservations the same day of a music event. Got a great table, a fun waitress and yummy food. Live Music (John Fries and the Elements) were fantastic to listen to and have dinner and drinks at the same time. The corn bread was soooo delicious. Easy paid parking across the street...

Came here for lunch on business break. Everything was Excellent except for the server. I must say he was friendly but, considering the establishment was sort of slow we could of had a little more attention and a faster check drop off. Other than that go and enjoy yourself food is well worth the stop.

My first experience trying collard greens. Loved them! A nice change from the standard American bar food. Free entertainment which is a plus.

I had learned about this restaurant on this site. Since we would be passing by Hartford, we put it on our trip-tik. What a great place!! I had the St. Louis Pork ribs that come with the best RED BEANS & RICE I have ever tasted. I got the quarter rack which had three ribs, but could only eat two.... More

This was my first time at Black-eyed Sally's. I ordered a Barbeque Brisket Sandwich. It included cole slaw. I asked for a healthy substitute for the vinegar chips. I chose garlic green beans. All was delicious. The brisket melted in my mouth. My brother ordered the crispy catfish. First they brought out the wrong dish - BBQ chicken. When the... More
