We were on our way back from an extended weekend in Portland ME. We did a search for dinner and BES was the choice. The hostess obviously hates her job, plenty of hauffing and eye rolling. But when she said "would you like to it by the band". The jazz music overshadowed the hostess and the waitress who forgot us.... More

Had the 2 meat combo of pulled pork and smoked sausage with rice and black beans and slaw. It was very good and a nice size portion. My wife had the cornmeal fried cat fish with salt and vinegar fries and slaw. She got a lot of fish, and took some of it home. The fries and slaw were also... More

This was our second visit to Black-Eyed Sally's although our last visit was a couple of years ago. My husband is a big BBQ fan and he loves their ribs. Between the two visits, we've sampled numerous menu items and have not been disappointed. The staff is always very friendly and attentive and seems to really enjoy being in the... More

I used Black Eyed Sally's to cater a year end pool party in my neighborhood. I just didn't want my husband or me standing at the grill all afternoon to cook for 30 people. It was a great decision to order from Black Eyed Sallys! I did the bulk ordering on-line and then got a phone call from them to... More

My family, (which includes our 16 year old son), and I recently stayed at a Hilton Hotel near Compounce Lake, a wonderful amusement park, but aside from the pub and restaurant at this hotel, there's really nothing to see or do in Bristol. With a little research, we found Black Eyed Sally's in Hartford, Ct., a delicious blend of soul... More

The BBQ ribs and pulled pork sandwiches were outstanding...just like being in Virginia. Outside tables were great for people watching.

We went there for the taste of Hartford, which is still going on. I had the corn and chicken chowder. I love a good corn chowder and this was a very good corn chowder (with chicken in it, which I had never thought of). I next had the ribbs. They are good althgout there weren't really quite enough (but then... More

I went here for a business dinner and the ribs were very good however the sides need a little bit to be desired. The salad with the cornbread croutons was amazing. Probably one of the best salads I've ever had

Got into town a little late for dinner (8:30PM) but wanted to get something to eat. Had some BBQ at Black Eyed Sally's which was really solid. They had a live band playing in the other room which was a great back drop. Service was a little spacy as I had two waitresses asking me the same questions - but... More

Music was pretty good - not Memphis maybe, but you're in Hartford after all. I had the pulled pork sandwich, which was great. Salad was good, too. Somewhat stale were the homemade chips that came with the sandwich. Table service was slow (they appeared to be under-staffed), so I ate at the bar. Bartender did a nice job even though... More
