very very goog barbeque

This was the first revisit to this place in over a year since I don't get to downtown Hartford too often. Lunch was absolutely no disappointment. Pulled pork sandwich, their specialty was excellent. Price was reasonable as well.

I really enjoyed my dinner. I had the Pan Seared Salmon and my colleague had the Damn Good Chicken, really it was called that. The live music was an unexpected treat. I would recommend this restaurant.

Party of 7 had dinner 4/22/15 at BES. We shared the wings, okra, sweet potato fries, and green tomato's. We all ordered different entrees. One of us ordered the Jambalaya. By 12pm he was throwing up for the next 4 hours. Everything else, for the most part, met our expectations, but it is disappointing that someone would get ill.

Always like eating and having a beer at this restaurant. Incredible brisket and ribs. Super gumbo. Jazz and Blues on weeknights is an added bonus. Hard to believe all those horn players get together in one spot on Tuesday night. Friendly staff, lots of beer choices on tap.

This place is really bad. The service was really poor in terms of how long it took for anything. I can be fine with all that if food is good. The food was really bad and our party had a nice sample of the menu. All food was overcooked and dry and that was the theme..... including the rice and... More

The restaurant is decorated with a Southern theme that is very cool and provided a great atmosphere. The food and the service was average. But, some of the menu items were incredibly good! I would recommend the corn bread, mash potatoes, pulled pork and deviled eggs with bacon. This was a nice place with reasonable prices for our family to... More

I had the St. Louis ribs, pulled pork, catfish nuggets, mac and cheese, cornbread, and washed it down with a nice Ten Penny Ale draft. They basically had to roll me out of the restaurant! I parked across the street for $5. We had Jaclyn as our server, and she was very nice/attentive/helpful. The restaurant is big, and open. The... More

My wife and I enjoyed our second visit to Black Eyed Sally's. First, parking is easy and right across the street. It was $5 which is not too bad for Hartford. The restaurant is clean and all staff is very friendly. I ordered burnt ends and the meat platter with ribs and pulled pork. My wife had a chicken salad.... More

St Luis ribs and Burnt Ends. Burnt ends were flavorful but quite fatty. Ribs were not done enough and also quite fatty. Apparently cooked too high and too fast. Disappointing as I was here a month ago and very happy with the same selection.

Meal was terrific. Think it was Sally's pigout. Ribs were just ok. The red beans and rice was flavorful. Sausage good smoke to it. Cornbread just right. Cheese grits good texture and delicious. Thought it was weird the barmaid charged me and my guest an additional drink. Ot was fixed, but could have missed it.
