Good food, nice local flavor with music and crowd

Local joint with local crowd. Food was really good and the live music was certainly entertaining. Great take on southern food. Eat a little earlier so that you aren't still eating when all the lights get turned out and the music starts!

I went last night and the food was amazing. The restaurant has the best soul food I ever had up North - I ordered the salmon, mashed potatoes and green beans - a friend of mine ordered some collard greens and another friend ordered the fried chicken - I tasted everything we each ordered and everything was outstanding - I... Great food even better music. The food could be overpriced but it is seasoned well. Lots of enjoyment being there listening to jazz or the blues. It is unlike no other experience in Hartford. There's also a club upstairs which has great music and drinks the people enjoy. The pulled pork is amazing. The barbecue was great. The chicken is... More

Oh. My. Lord. If you like Southern food, you've got to try this place. The atmosphere is eclectic and fun. Our server, Jean, was a complete sweetheart. Attentive and efficient with great recommendations. The burnt ends appetizer was amazing and their signature barbecue sauce was excellent. I had the southern fried chicken with Mac and cheese and garlicky green beans... More

We had been to this restaurant before and the food has always been average, at best. However, this time, while the service was excellent, the ribs served to me were nasty. There was barely any meat on them, as if the majority of it had been removed, leaving about 1/4 inch on the bones. And it was dry and unpleasant... More

Hi Tina- I am sorry to read that your ribs were not up to par. We take our guest satisfaction very seriously. Since you have been here before you know that isn't typical of Sally's kitchen. While we always strive for perfection- sometimes (its rare) a less than perfect dish makes it out of the kitchen. I would like to... More

My husband and I went in last night after seeing their menu on the Taste Of Hartford website. We've been in the area many times before (a common stop for us when we were in our early 20s), but had never made it in. We made reservations for 6:30. When we arrived the bar area seemed pretty busy, but there... More

Going here on a Friday night was definitely the right choice. The day that I had picked to go was surprisingly open mike night, where we saw some great talent go down on the stage, while being engulfed in a joyful booming environment. Here, I ordered the southwest fried chicken and Mac n cheese. While the food took a little... More

service was very good. I had the full rack of ribs. Flavor was excellent but fattier than I like them. My dinner companion thought the fish was average but the sausage was top notch.

Great service, good food. The night life is hectic and loud! Still if you're in the mood for a party, take the time to stop in and enjoy!
