I like Hot Tomato's always have. The local and decor leaves me a little cold. I liked it better twenty years ago when it was a hole in the wall. The food is good, even kind of interesting for an italian place.

We were able to get back to Hot Tomato's for lunch last weekend. I am sorry that we did. My friend had the eggplant tower and she said it was not very good. I had the chop salad and it was the size of a side salad, without much in it. Very disappointed that it is not as good as... More

I went to this restaurant with my husband for our anniversary. We had avoided the place for years because they had changed the menu and removed some of our favorite items but noticed they had been added back so we tried it again. Overall the food was good but the service was just ok and i got the vibe that... More

The food was quite good, as was the wine list. That being said, it didn't quite come together. It was noisy. It was drafty. It's not that easy to park. And the prices are a little high. No one in our party ate more than half of what was on the plate. There is just too much food, in an... More

I ordered takeout online from the Homewood Suites which is about a block away. The food and service was impeccable. Good size portions at a fair price.

Hot Tomato's used to be a family favorite for a reasonably priced very good meal in downtown Hartford. The garlic bread was to die for! We ventured back recently on a Saturday night. My husband and I arrived a few minutes early. We had a 5:30 reservation and when we arrived the dining area in which we were seated had... More

Great selection of pasta dishes. Even some of the other entrees were served over angel hair. In town for the marathon and they had a great special for runners, Half off pasta dishes. Elegant casual, cool chandeliers. Friendly staff and great food!

I was welcomed by the hostess who showed us to the room for canvas art class. This was a business gathering so I was among a group consisting of 35 people. We did art on canvas while eating snacks and drinks. After art, we had a buffet style dinner consisting of chicken, beef with mushrooms, salad and potatoes. Dessert with... More

I recently went here for dinner and was impressed by everything. Ridiculously good food and drinks, friendly and fast service, ambiance, and value make this place 5 stars! They also have an awesome patio where they feature live music. Authentic Italian meals around the area are hard to find, so I am so excited to find this gem. I will... More

Excellent, non-chain Italian food! I've been going here almost daily since moving to Hartford last month. Sit outside, at a table, or at the bar with one of the "J's" (Jordan Janelly, or Justine) and you get great, prompt service and fabulous food. I have not had a meal or an appetizer here yet that has not been great. I... More
