3.7 out of 5. Will come back

Family of five on a sunday night. Quiet in restaurant and service was bad. (Waitress) but staff bailed her out. Veal chop was very good as was the pasta with shrimp and sausage. Garden salad lame and wilted but wedge salad rocked. Had pasta dish with pork chicken and sausage amazing. Very fresh. .

Would not recommend this place at all. Both food and service was extremely poor. arrived at 1:30 after lunch crowd so no excuse to wait as long as I did for my hamburger which was awful. Also the table was not stable on the floor and after adding 4 packets of sugar to stabilize the table I knew I was... More

Yes, it's popular but unfortunately it was disappointing when we were there for lunch recently. Food was average at best. My caesar salad was not fresh and not flavorful. Old train station atmosphere is creative and frolicking...but noisy...so be warned it's not a place for an intimate conversation.

The beauty of our large space is you can enjoy the liveliness of our lounge or the intimacy of our upper dining area! Please let us know next time if you would like a more intimate experience, we’d be more than happy to try to accommodate that for you. Average is not what we strive for, and we would love... More

Visited for a business dinner and had along with a co-worker the veal parmesan chop. What came out was a Flintstone sized portion. It was delicious! Nicely breaded and cooked perfectly. Was only able to eat half as the meal also included a nice portion of pasta. Service was great throughout. Waiting to go back again, hopefully soon.

Nothing better than being able to bring home some leftovers! We’re glad you enjoyed the Veal Parmesan dish, and are happy to hear you had great service throughout as well. We’ll be sure to share your kind compliments with our team. We hope to see you in again soon to try some of our other classic Italian dishes! More

Had not been to this place in years and I have mixed reviews! The garlic bread was to die for...just like I remember..A+. However, we went during the "Taste of Hartford" when you are able to order an Appetizer, Entree, and Dessert from a select menu for $30. This seems like great deal until it becomes clear that these are... More

No meal is complete at Hot Tomato’s without trying our garlic bread, glad it was just how you remembered it! Our Taste of Hartford menu is meant to give our customers a chance to try multiple items off of our classic menu that they may not usually order at a discounted price, which is why the portions are slightly smaller... My husband and I decided to try a new-to-us restaurant in Hartford, as a friend of ours had recommended the place to us. We ate a "lupper" (late lunch, early dinner) before taking in a show. The place was easy enough to find and within walking distance of the XL Center. We made advance reservations and our table was ready... More

I have been going to Hot Tomato's since I worked nearby in Hartford twenty years ago. I now live in another city entirely but always enjoy a visit to Hot Tomato's when we visit Hartford. I have never been disappointed in my meals there, and this past New Year's Eve was no exception. We reserved in advance through OpenTable for... More

Hot Tomatoes offers a good quality meal, but the prices are kind of high for pasta and bread. Salads are extra (and pricey for a side salad!) I get it - location is everything, and this place is perfect anytime you are in the area seeing a show at the hartford stage or civic center. The food is good though -... More

I do have to say our stay didn't start out well. My wife and I made reservations and when we got there, there were no tables available to multiple Christmas parties going on, but they rebounded impeccably. They scrambled to get us a nice, quiet table, apologized to us and we were seated within 10 minutes, and they also bought... More
