Wine and Dinner

This is a great place to grab a glass of wine. If you are hungry you can grab an appetizer, panni or a full dinner and Dessert is great. Most Items are made there fresh. The cheese fondue is a great favorites as well as the meat or cheese platters.

Whether it's small plates or dinner entrees, Bin 228 won't disappoint. Wines by the glass, lovely appetizers and interesting entrees. We'll often have a glass of wine and 2 or 3 appetizers to share before theater, and return after for dessert. Reservations are a must, especially if it's a theater night. The place usually clears out around 15 minutes before... More

We visited Bin 228 as part of Hartford Restaurant Week. What a treat! Everything we had was superb. The scallops were perfectly seasoned and cooked. The salad was simply, but beautifully dressed. The gelato was rich but not cloyingly sweet. The wine had depth and the choices were plentiful. Our service was lovely and gracious. We will return!

Bin 228 is a snuggled in restaurant just a block or two from major downtown streets. Changing menus with great food, wonderful wine list, and knowledgeable waitstaff are all characteristics of this smart restaurant. The price is right. Bin 228 is busy from 5 PM to closing. Reservations suggested. Definitely worth a stop and repeat visits. Casual dress is fine,... More

good things come in small packages, right? So is the case for Bin228. I have never had a bad meal here and I have been going her for dinner and lunch for several years now. Great wine list wonderful staff and great food all in a relaxed cozy atmosphere. Definitely try it out.

Lovely and cozy spot...menu has several light options including delicious small plates. Kelly (barkeep and service) is friendly, attentive, warm, and informative. Great suggestions for pairing. We had salad with pears and goat cheese crustini, beef carpaccio, risotto. Had a late light dinner among a friendly but non-intrusive crowd. Very very nice.

Prior to attending a meeting at Theaterworks friends and I stopped in for a glass of wine and some light eats. The wine list is extensive and gave us the opportunity to be either safe or experiment. The menu had interesting fare and many healthy offerings. The decor was comfortable and inviting.

Although it is a bit crowded before a Theaterworks performance, it's worth it! The waitstaff is very friendly considering the tight space between tables and the number of customers! The pear, Gorgonzola and hazelnut bruschetta is simply delicious. Just the right size little bite before heading over to the show. The flavors are heavenly! Super Tuscan wine as a pairing... More

This was a great little place right across from TheaterWorks - very chill and low-key vibe. The wine selection was excellent, and the small plates were quite delicious. I had a glass of the Valpolicella along with the prosciutto-wrapped gorgonzola-stuffed figs and the burrata. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable, particularly when navigating the vast wine selection. Can't wait to... More

My friend found this restaurant while he was walking back to the hotel. It was a nice surprise for us. The place is cozy but small. We ordered some cheese, bruschetta and antipasto to share. The food was nice and tasty. I ordered scallop with spinach and to my surprise, it was so delicious, melted in my mouth. We ordered... More
