Lovely and cozy spot...menu has several light options including delicious small plates. Kelly (barkeep and service) is friendly, attentive, warm, and informative. Great suggestions for pairing. We had salad with pears and goat cheese crustini, beef carpaccio, risotto. Had a late light dinner among a friendly but non-intrusive crowd. Very very nice.

Prior to attending a meeting at Theaterworks friends and I stopped in for a glass of wine and some light eats. The wine list is extensive and gave us the opportunity to be either safe or experiment. The menu had interesting fare and many healthy offerings. The decor was comfortable and inviting.

Although it is a bit crowded before a Theaterworks performance, it's worth it! The waitstaff is very friendly considering the tight space between tables and the number of customers! The pear, Gorgonzola and hazelnut bruschetta is simply delicious. Just the right size little bite before heading over to the show. The flavors are heavenly! Super Tuscan wine as a pairing... More

This was a great little place right across from TheaterWorks - very chill and low-key vibe. The wine selection was excellent, and the small plates were quite delicious. I had a glass of the Valpolicella along with the prosciutto-wrapped gorgonzola-stuffed figs and the burrata. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable, particularly when navigating the vast wine selection. Can't wait to... More

My friend found this restaurant while he was walking back to the hotel. It was a nice surprise for us. The place is cozy but small. We ordered some cheese, bruschetta and antipasto to share. The food was nice and tasty. I ordered scallop with spinach and to my surprise, it was so delicious, melted in my mouth. We ordered... More

Title says it all: Only 2 couples in the restaurant & service was HORRIBLE. Had to request our bottle of wine, the server kept on ice behind the bar. Food is good but will not return because of the service.

I was attending depositions across the street. I have not spent a lot of time eating in downtown Hartford. I asked for a recommendation and they told me to go here. The food was great, with some unexpected twists. I have never had an heirloom tomato before (it was a daily special) and found they have more flavor than the... More

Love Bin 228 for a quick small plate, tapas style dinner before TheaterWorks or for coffee and dessert after the show. A nice selection of standards on the menu year round and specials that rotate in and out. Staff is always cognizant and very accommodating for the TheaterWorks curtain. Sweet and savory both delicious.

Hard to know where to start....great local, cool decor and comfortable. Kelly helped us pick nice wines. The food was great- the arugula salad was giant and the dressing delicate. The paninis were the best ever. Everything was fresh, ample, delicious, perfect, great...what else to say? Oh, and 1 of the few places ever that actually keeps your water glass... More

Great wine list and good food. A lot of "small bites" and sandwich style but all good. Staff is great too.
