I am not a wine expert. I have been trying to grow in my knowledge and taste of it, which is what led me to Bin 228. I came with my boyfriend and another couple. It was a relatively busy Saturday night, with a show in town, so we were seated in the bar area. I called ahead to make... More

I'm not an expert but they do have a good selection of wines, and the food is good. The service is even better!

We ate here on a snowy Tuesday evening before a play at theatreworks. Of course the wine selection is excellent and they really do offer something for every taste. We started with a few appetizers that were very good. My sister and nephew ordered the special entre that evening which was a chicken risotto. They both were disappointed. They said... More

Went there for apps/dinner a couple weeks ago on a Saturday night. Drinks came fast, food was good. Great little plates and appetizers with food to share. Would be 5 stars but I think they lose their way on main dishes, had a special (a Steak Risotto) and it was just OK.

Great restaurant in downtown Hartford. Definitely a must try for any occasion! And make sure to try their amazing cheese fondue appetizer (currently featured in their picture on trip advisor).

Downtown Hartford is a little scary, even before dark. But I stepped into this "panini and wine" bar and had a delicious salad- goat cheese crostini on mixed greens with pears and almonds- and a good pinot grigio. I don´t even LIKE goat cheese, but this salad was great!!! Also the staff was very friendly and helpful, easing my apprehensions... More

Very cozy, cute hidden gem of Hartford. In the many years I've discovered this place, I still have not been able to find better panini. Be prepared for slow service but its actually nice not to be rushed out of a restaurant like most others do. Fantastic wine selection!!!!

Bin 228 happened to be right across the street from the office where I was conducting business in Hartford, and was recommended as close and convenient. The food was very good (I had liver pate and my companion had the pasta special), lots of Italian wines by the glass at decent prices. I was pleasantly surprised and would return again... More

I've eaten here about five times over 10 years, including last Friday night. I love Bin 228. It is (as other reviewers say) charming, tiny, unique, fun, delicious...with very tight quarters in a quaint way. It is at it's best for a date, catching up with a friend after work, or a bite (or 3) and a couple glasses of... More

Went to the restaurant after several years absence disappointed with the preparation of the food and poor quality of service.
