I was attending depositions across the street. I have not spent a lot of time eating in downtown Hartford. I asked for a recommendation and they told me to go here. The food was great, with some unexpected twists. I have never had an heirloom tomato before (it was a daily special) and found they have more flavor than the... More

Love Bin 228 for a quick small plate, tapas style dinner before TheaterWorks or for coffee and dessert after the show. A nice selection of standards on the menu year round and specials that rotate in and out. Staff is always cognizant and very accommodating for the TheaterWorks curtain. Sweet and savory both delicious.

Hard to know where to start....great local, cool decor and comfortable. Kelly helped us pick nice wines. The food was great- the arugula salad was giant and the dressing delicate. The paninis were the best ever. Everything was fresh, ample, delicious, perfect, great...what else to say? Oh, and 1 of the few places ever that actually keeps your water glass... More

Great wine list and good food. A lot of "small bites" and sandwich style but all good. Staff is great too.

I am not a wine expert. I have been trying to grow in my knowledge and taste of it, which is what led me to Bin 228. I came with my boyfriend and another couple. It was a relatively busy Saturday night, with a show in town, so we were seated in the bar area. I called ahead to make... More

I'm not an expert but they do have a good selection of wines, and the food is good. The service is even better!

We ate here on a snowy Tuesday evening before a play at theatreworks. Of course the wine selection is excellent and they really do offer something for every taste. We started with a few appetizers that were very good. My sister and nephew ordered the special entre that evening which was a chicken risotto. They both were disappointed. They said... More

Went there for apps/dinner a couple weeks ago on a Saturday night. Drinks came fast, food was good. Great little plates and appetizers with food to share. Would be 5 stars but I think they lose their way on main dishes, had a special (a Steak Risotto) and it was just OK.

Great restaurant in downtown Hartford. Definitely a must try for any occasion! And make sure to try their amazing cheese fondue appetizer (currently featured in their picture on trip advisor).

Downtown Hartford is a little scary, even before dark. But I stepped into this "panini and wine" bar and had a delicious salad- goat cheese crostini on mixed greens with pears and almonds- and a good pinot grigio. I don´t even LIKE goat cheese, but this salad was great!!! Also the staff was very friendly and helpful, easing my apprehensions... More
