We arrived at 6:00 PM on a Tuesday and found the happy hour crowd sampling many of the beers produced in the brewery part of this interesting and historic ("romanesque") building. The food is mostly pub fare, but there is something to please most every palate. Just don't expect alot of entrees to choose from. This building was a department... More

Nice walk from our hotel for some good local brew! All of the beer selections we made on our sampler were great, and a good value. For dinner we had Fish and Chips and the Pot Roast; both were good. The service was quick and friendly.

In downtown and not far from the XL center on Main St. Very convenient. The beer is awesome; they have several of their own brands on tap; I prefer the Naughty Nurse (yes, that's what it's called) but White Wedding is also nice (I think that's an IPA; not sure). If you're going there to have a Budweiser, YOU'RE WRONG!... More

The City Steam Brewery is in a beautiful old romanesque building, and they have done a nice job with the interior. There is a good selection of beer and cocktails, and the staff was friendly. Given all this, we were surprised that the service was very slow and were disappointed with the food. My wife had the sesame encrusted Tilapia,... More

We came from the train station starving and found this place nearby. Excellent food - great variety to please anyone. And even better service. Ask for Damian -- he's hilarious!

I came in late on a Friday evening, having just arrived at the hotel next door. There was a live musician (reasonably good), and the atmosphere felt lively... if not a little dark and rough. I went in because it advertised it was voted #1 in Hartford by some Hartford magazine. The range of the menu was excellent, excellent beers... More

We chose City Steam for a quick lunch between a wedding and reception. Sampled several of their brews and found a couple we liked. Also, split an order of delicious fish tacos.
