Really liked the selections of beers. Great job of utilizing the old building`s historical features; really liked the atmosphere. The white pizza was very delicious, the blend of sweet balsamic with salty bacon and ripe pear was well done. Burgers are awesome too.

Last Saturday our family of 9 celebrated my mom's birthday here. In this beautiful, historic space, we were seated in a semi-private balcony overlooking much of the restaurant. The overall ambience was hopping, but not overwhelming. The staff was fantastic - so friendly and solicitous. The beer was great, the food choices numerous and tasty. As someone who grew up... More

Had an opportunity to eat at the City Steam Brewery while visiting Hartford. What a great place and super atmosphere. The Reuben Burger was sublime! Perfectly cooked, juicy, delicious! French onion soup - a hearty depth of flavor and cheesy goodness. Server was attentive, price was right and the Bloody Mary...spot on!

After waiting 30 minutes I was served a chopped salad that was completely brown. Reserved brown lettuce and td the dressing makes the lettuce look brown. Service for iced tea refills was only after we asked. Glad we came when the restaurant was not busy. Won't be back any time

Wow what a find! This place is incredible and that's just the building. Lovely atmosphere. We were on the top floor next to the balcony so we were over looking the entire place. The food was gorgeous and reasonable too. I had the small pulled pork and ribs combo - had to leave the waffle fries and a quarter of... More

the building is charming and the food was very good, but utilizing space from an old department store, there were many levels of seating and many old, but beautiful stairways. the kitchen was on the fourth floor and the wait staff were in remarkable shape carrying everything up and down stairs. tip them well!!

Was happy to find this craft brew pub during a recent business trip. Very comfortable atmosphere and friendly service. Enjoyed their recently released OctoberFest beer. A delightful amber marched well with a bison burger which was delicious. My side Caesar salad was small and unimpressive considering the over pricing of the burger. But overall a good pub worth a visit.

Located in downtown within the confines of a beautiful Romanesque building that was once a department store, City Steam Brewery Café is the only brewpub in Hartford. The venue sprawls through several floors and includes a patio and a pool room; this review is based on two recent visits to the main floor bar area. The bar is rather large,... More

We (two couples mid-50"s) visited the Brew Haha comedy club and had a fabulous evening. The comedy club is located in the basement of the city steam brewery and restaurant. The show consisted of three very funny comics. The menu had a variety of pub foods and there was a full bar featuring the house made brews plus standard spirits.... More
