Interesting beer list, friendly and helpful bartender, good burger

I was in Hartsford for business, and decided to try out the City Steam Brewery for dinner. It was fairly busy when I arrived around 6pm due to being in the middle of happy hour, but I was able to get a seat at the bar. They have some pretty good happy hour selections, including a few $3... read more

During a convention in Hartford a few weeks back, I went to dinner at the City Steam Brewery with about 9 other friends. We were early enough to be quickly seated in a quiet area and wound up with a fabulous waitress. A number of us tried different craft brews and were all very satisfied. The menu had something for... Way too noisy, screaming customers, TVs blaring, music. 10 dollar burger that's worth 3 bucks with weird fries. Awful IPA brewed locally. Should be avoided.

Conveniently located right off of Rt. 84 in Hartford; Easy to find and a great find. This was our first time here and I'd most definitely stop in again. I have to say that besides the beer, I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Really neat brew pub, which used to be an old department store. Our server was excellent, and had... More

Amanda deserves a raise! She was very kind and selected a great flight of beers for me. She also picked out a meal for me. Both of which were delicious! Thanks Amanda!

Stop by for dinner on the way home from a trip. We tried a flight of five different beers from a total of 16 brewed on the premises. My favorites were white wedding, an unfiltered wheat beer, and a stout with a creamy head. Husband tried more than 5 and enjoyed them well. We took home a growler of white... More

This place is a bit loud, but I think that was the beer talking. Stopped here after checking into our hotel and before dinner. We hit the after work crowd but we able to get settled at the bar. The service was great and the Innocence Double IPA better. If you love beer you will love this place, no matter... More

This restaurant has a very fun atmosphere. It is great for a party of two or large groups. It is connected to the Residence Inn downtown which is very convenient but also convenient if you are staying at other hotels downtown. The walk is safe if you are walking. There is parking nearby. The food choices are typical pub food... More

I've been here a few times with work outings and most recently with my partner who was interested in the beer. He rated the beers all in the 3-4 star (out of 5) range (he had two flights, so tasted quite a few of the beers), but the food was once again "just ok". The waffle fries were somewhat bland;... Straight forward brewpub. Good,on-sight made, variety of beers to choose from. Food menu is fairly predictable and above average for a brewpub. The pub seems to be a local and traveler's favorite. Service seemed friendly and helpful. (I had a few different types of beers which were pretty good, and my steak sandwich was okay... Unfortunately, nothing out-of-this world great)
