We were there tonight for dinner we ordered salmon, bluefish, lobster, veggiebob and corn. Bluefish was really good, my picky 4 year old daughter eat everything in her plate. Normally she doesn't eat anything other than chicken or pasta. Salmon was good, too. They cook it in the foil with some lemon sliced on top. It was juicy and delicious.y... More

We were up in Guilford for the day so decided to try this quaint outdoor restaurant that the NY Times had written up. It was a beautiful day, so the prospect of dining outdoors was appealing. The novelty quickly wore off as we waited over 45 minutes for our food. I should add that the waitress came to our table... More

One of the neatest dining experiences ever. Not only is the atmosphere so unique and interesting but the food is amazing. We had an assortment of their menu including clams, mussels, shrimp, lobster, steak, veggie kabob and corn. Each came out as it was ready and one thing was better than the next. Mussels were enormous and the broth served... More

My husband and I stopped in based on reviews. It said seat yourself, so we did. We sat there and no one came by. We wondered if we had to go up and order. Then the waitress came by. My husband said we are new here and asked how does it work. The waitress seemed annoyed that she had to... More

Everything was burnt. The idea of sitting on wood stumps is cool, but the food honestly sucks. Corn was bla and burnt, chicken burnt and dry, I mean it was horrible.

I probably would have been skeptical of The Place in concept only -- one of the benefits of going out to eat is not having to do anything and it sounded like The Place did the easy part (grilling) while guests do the harder part (preparing salads and side dishes.) But I had heard so much about it that I... More

I've been wanting to come for a long time but was concerned about what I'd find at the end of the trip-now I regret not coming sooner! Yes it's rustic but not at all dicey as I'd imagined- The tables & tents are a cheerful red, & every table sports a big green bottle full of wildflowers!! The stumps were... More

We ate their for lunch, we were there soon after it opened. The food was ok but we left hungry after spending $50 for 2 adults and 1 child, for the value of what you get it's just not worth it. We had to get pizza after lunch, I really don't understand the rave reviews. My family has been in... More

I have heard about The Place for a number of years from family members and I finally got to try it out. Get there early as they don't take reservations. We had a large group of about 15 people and it was really fun. Al fresco dining at its best. Their motto is "put your rump on a stump" and... More
