We celebrated a birthday here. Its a seasonal outdoor eating experience with a limited grilled food menu. Lots of fun. BYOB.

We love The Place. The corn and fish are delicious, but the CLAMS are the best. We ordered 5 dozen "special" clams, which have a special sauce. We get to see a perfect view of the grill. The service is nice and friendly. My only complaint is about the bathrooms, which are DISGUSTING. Great restaurant. Seafood lovers, come to The... More

The place is all about the format. Eating outdoors on tree stumps on a woody setting near a large open wood grill. My kids enjoy it. It is a place I want to rate better but aside from the theme there is not much else. While the grille Is understandably limited, preparation is only so-so. Corn is burnt, steak is... More

The hubs and I stopped on the way down to New Orleans on a whim because we were hungry and it was in the area. It was by and far the best random stop we had on our honeymoon. The service was incredible and while the food didn't come with sides it was delicious. I got the bluefish and he... More

Funky and casual...simple food at its best! Need I say more? We had the salmon, lobster, ribeye, grilled corn, and clams. All were amazing! Bring your own wine to make this meal over the top! Curteous and attentive staff too!

Used to come to 'The Place' every year....but stopped....its just not worth what they charge. Yeah, it's a different experience...you eat outside while sitting on a stump of wood. But that experience isnt worth the difference in price. Whether it be steak, lobster, shrimp, fish, or chicken, your meal comes with NOTHING! Not even 1 side dish. Now again, i... More

This is one of those different enough eateries where the setting is the main attraction. It's more of an event than a meal. If you're ready, this is a great event made possible by the excellent staff, the sight of a fiery grill manned by busy high school kids and and your choice of company. Originally called "Whitey's", owned and... More

Bring your own side dishes, appetizers, and drinks....and enjoy the steak and corn. Easy to find and lots of tables, so no wait needed.

What can you say about a 23-foot outside grill on which your food is cooked? We had lobster, and corn cooked on the grill and a key lime pie as desert. The lobster and corn were very good but not great, and the pie came out of a box. Lots of local folks bring their own salads, wine, and bread.... More

This is definitely a fun place, and lively too. We arrived about 7:30 pm and had to wait in line approximately 45 minutes before we got a table for 5 people. This is not bad I understand... and it did give us time to run across the street to a plaza grocery to pick up some side dishes and cold... More
