Go to the bar!

One of my new favorite places for a drink and app. The bartender at night (don't know his name) is a classic. The food may not be gourmet, but they are not trying to be. It's good. Good food. Good Value. Good place to go when you are looking for local Italian - and a drink at the bar.

Italian food only grandma can make. Prices very reasonable with specials (pasta, Wednesday; veal, Thursday). Staff is very friendly and knows menu well so they're great with recommendations. Veal chef is to die for; my wife loves the chicken with penne vodka sauce. Peter is a great Chef, go say hi and try it for yourself. Great Sunday brunch too.

This is a local family restaurant with good food. There is something for everybody from pizza to Italian specialty dishes. It has stayed the same for years. The service was spotty but it allowed us to have a leisurely dinner.

Management seems to be no where in sight. Call for a pizza order and you might be told by the young person who answers, "I'm busy", puts you on hold, never to return. Then there's the times when another young person takes your order and when you arrive to pick it up, it was never "turned in." So now you... More

Service-wise, it was a bad night. Not attentive at all, water never refilled, long wait to get check. Went on pasta night and one choice was made from that menu. The Fettuccine Carbonara was just ok. The other dinner ordered was Shrimp Parmigiana which also was okay. The sauce was tasteless on the shrimp as was the side of pasta.

First walking in an empty table sitting n front for 6 people. Said it would be a few minutes. We heard the manager say to waitstaff, " no don't reset they can wait a few". 20 min later we were taken to exact same table. Then we got 1 menu for 5 of us. The same manager said it will... More

If you're thinking about going to brunch here make alternate plans. This was the worst buffet I have ever had. The food was left sitting out and was cold. The service was terrible and the tables around us were dirty.

I grew up having pizza from New Haven. When I moved to Guilford, the hardest thing to accept was mediocre pizza. So, when I'm crazing really good "New Haven" style pizza, I head over to Anthony's. By far, best pizza in town and their eggplant is the best also.

We hadn't been to Anthony's in many years and we went there with another couple a couple of weeks ago. The remodel they did a few years back was effective, the dining room seemed cleaner and more welcoming. We were all pleased our meals and the service was good. Overall a very pleasant experience, we will not wait so long... More
