Experience a place locals enjoy for good quality and excellent service. Seafood is fresh and tasty. The atmosphere is pleasant but often noisy. Still, it is my favorite Guilford restaurant. Try mussels in the bar.

The location is very pretty & historic. We were there on a very busy and NOISY Friday evening. The server was exceptionally pleasant. We enjoyed our selections very much. Our only complaints were with the drinks. One of us got a dirty martini, one a Cosmopolitan, and one of us got a Vodka tonic. The drinks were higher priced, yet... More

I guess this is what passes for fancy in Guilford. It's OK, but not really upscale, it's more like an family eatery. My salad was OK, the fish was a little overcooked and terribly salty, my companions fish was bland, the wine list was predictable. The staff were friendly but not terribly knowledgeable. From a food perspective, the restaurant seems... More

We have been to Stone House many times over the years. We almost always order the rare tuna entree which is consistently awesome. Generally everything on the menu is good though sometimes a little over sauced. The location is enchanting near the water. The bar though cramped is very cozy and inviting. The only slight negative is service - servers... More

While the food and service were very good, the acoustics were horrendous. We were a party of 5 women and we could not have a conversation. It is a shame because everyone enjoyed their meals and our waitress was very funny. A member of our party is partially deaf and we explained this to the woman who seated us, but... More

We are biased about the Stone House and the Little Stone House. We first saw this restaurant in the winter, and the scenery was magnificent, so we encouraged a group of friends and relatives to buy the place, brought my brother-in-law, an executive chef from NYC, up to run it, and it has turned into a fantastic restaurant. Great fish,... More

Arrived in Guilford, CT from UK and was taken to dinner at this restaurant. Very vibrant and busy location. Food was great and staff very attentive and helpful. Restaurant is on the Sound but difficult to see the scenery as it was dark. All in all a great experience and i look forward to further visits.

Nestled at the harbor's edge in the historic town of Guilford, CT you will find the Stone House Restaurant. It is a delightful restaurant in a delightful location. The food is great. My wife and I recently dined here. Her pan seared scallops and saffron risotto were prepared perfectly. My swordfish steak and fried squash ravioli was wonderfully tasty. Our... More
