Pleasant Surprise

Came here totally by chance after visiting the Submarine Force Museum thanks to the GPS. What we got was a cool, old-style diner with a limited menu skewed towards breakfast with some lunch offerings. We were aiming for lunch on a hot summer day .... but no salads were to be found! We stopped at 5am while on a road trip, tired and hungry from an all-night drive up the East Coast. At Norm's we found quick, friendly service, a great stack of pancakes, and bottomless coffee that gave us the energy for the final push. It ain't fancy. A long counter, some booths, an open griddle. But the tableware and restrooms... More

Calling this restaurant terrible is strong enough. I stopped at Norm's Diner while visiting the area several weeks ago. I was shocked at how the cook treated his customers. He was throwing food at them. He was telling insulting ethnic jokes. He did not know that the menu items changed. I will never stop at Norm's again. I do not... More

I found this local diner by Googling Diners in Groton, CT. Since it was only 1/2 mile from where I was working I thought I would check it out. It is true 50's diner with all the decorations, feel, etc. Its very popular with the locals. The wait staff is very friendly. The food is average, which was disappointing to... More

What can I say about Norm's Diner? This establishment is from a bygone era...it has round, vinyl-covered stools at a linoleum counter. The booths are small, faux leather and the wear and tear is apparent. (My side of the booth had some holes and the padding was sorely missing). But what Norm's has got in abundance is old time diner... More

Great food and price cannot be beat. Sweet potato fries are awesome. Definitely will make this a "must go" location when in town.

Thought I would try again. Haven't been here in years. Will not go back for years to come if ever. Nasty boxed/canned food. Horrible service.

so there I was jonesing for breakfast. When you are on a project for months at a time, you get a lot of choices in eating, so I googled diners and lo and behold found Norm's. Really cool old style diner, actually a dining car that has been added onto. Like walking into the past. A few booths and counter... More

Reasonable prices, good food, friendly staff, diner style. Waitress was very friendly and joked with members of our group. Small parking lot, but additional parking available along the street.
