Good but Expensive

Very good seafood but very expensive for what you get. Captain Scott's in New London is just as good and far more reasonable. If you go on a hot day it will not be a pleasant dining experience. Mostly for tourist.

Had a very good lobster roll here with friends. I loved that they offered free tap water for those who might not want something else. My only concern was that, like most lobster rolls, the butter made the roll soggy. It didn't make our visit any less wonderful, just something I experienced. My friend thought they put the butter on... More

Have been to Costello's several times this summer; all with the same result. A fun place right on the end of a pier in the Noank Shipyard with great food. Four of us went there, each had a different entree; everyone liked what they ordered. I had clam strips, they were great. Accompanying the clam strips were the best French... More

The fritters tasted as if they were fried in old grease. Also, they gave me the wrong chowder. Good location. Friendly staff. Just bad food.

The food was awful and the service worse. There were not a lot of people there and yet we had to wait 30 min for our take out order. The rest of our party was at Abbott's waiting for us to join them so we could enjoy a meal together. Did not and would not go back.

For no good reason we always went to abbott's, but this time around being a rainy day we thought that Costello may have more room under their big canapé. Well you didn't miss much. They have the same menu plus few fried options. Same nice view of the sound, same bob, some somewhat mid to high prices but overall still... More

Stopped by on a week night. Good crowd there, pretty busy kitchen. Opted for the Fish and Chips while my Mother had the Fried Scallops. Both dishes were excellent. Came out hot with ample portions. Combine that with a view of the Mystic River and Fishers Island Sound and you have a winner. Best views are upstairs and it is... More

I gave this a four, would of been a five if the clam fritters (clam cakes) were good. First the good; the fried clam strips were cooked perfect and the clams were very sweet. They were light and not chewy. I would go back here and next time get the clam strip dinner. The bad; as for the clam fritters,... More

Stopped for lunch on July fourth weekend. The food was terrific and you can't beat the view. Started with a bowl of clear clam chowder it was fantastic. Moved on to the whole belly clam roll. It was to die for. We also had the loaded fish sandwich and it was probably one of the best we've had. On a... More

Great waterfront view. Affordable menu and great for a quick, casual meal. Clams, crab cakes and mussels were pretty standard.
