Our nephew who serves in the Navy introduced us to Chester's BBQ. You drive into a nondescript shopping center and wonder where and why you are there, then you see the sign in the corner with a pig wearing a hot and a smoking a corncob pipe. As you enter you smell that amazing smoker smell and all of the... More

Stopped for lunch while on vacation. Not by mistake but by using the reviews for the area. When you first walk in your greeted with the pleasent aroma of smoked meat. Decided on the brisket. It was out of this world. Best I have ever had. Portions are generous and the price reasonable. Will return when I come back into... More

Barbeque is sacred stuff in our household. To say that there is even mediocre Barbeque in New England is a stretch, but clearly Chester's is NOT New England Barbeque! I've enjoyed some of the best brisket and ribs I've had anywhere. Chester's is one of the finest meat purveyors on the east coast. Large spare ribs had the perfect balance... More

Had a taste from some Q on the 4th of July. We were nearby for a baseball tournament so didnt have our own grill and hotel didnt allow one, so we decided on Chesters, Friendly staff and family atmosphere. We ordered our food and without exception, it came out avg time, no wait. I ordered brisket, spare ribs, collards, and... More

I was craving bbq and went into Chester's to try it out for lunch. Having lived down south, I'm so glad I was able to find a bbq place in Connecticut that has great food, sweet tea, and excellent service. I tried the baby back ribs, baked beans, and cinnamon apples. Since the ribs are smoked with a dry rub,... More

I'm from Virginia, and never expected to find such a great barbecue place up north. They take their barbecue seriously and it shows. Pulled pork, ribs, brisket--all excellent. Relaxed place to sit and eat in booths, or take out. One of the owners works the cash register and you'll be best friends before your order even comes up. You'll be... More

Went to Chester's for dinner, and had a great time. Don't let the strip mall store-front fool you--this place is fun and delicious. Big take-aways: -Excellent, friendly service -Legitimate Southern-style sweet tea. Amazing smoky sweet flavor. -Fantastic brisket--juicy, not fatty or greasy. Easily in the top 3! -Hands-down best burnt ends anywhere. -Decent chicken -Pork ribs/pulled pork only average. -Traditional... More

Chester's has been our go to for BBQ in CT for years. I've heard people say their ribs are dry and that may be true (it's smoked meat with a dry rub on it), but my guess is that they forgot to grab a few containers of the BBQ sauce that is available over by the sweet tea. Either way,... More

I've only been to a BBQ restaurant once before so I wasn't sure what to order. The chef helped me choose a mixed plate so I could try a few different things and it was excellent, I will definitely return if I'm in the area again.

Drove an hour to check out this place and it was definitely worth it. The Brisket and pulled pork sandwiches were amazing, as were the sides and sweet tea. Give this place a try if you're in the region, you won't be disappointed.
