Quality of cuisine has dropped

My wife and I used to come here quite often years ago. We decided to try it again and were disappointed with one of our past favorites. They used to make a potato hash with chopped shrimp in it. It was then delicious. We tried it recently as a side dish and it was ice cold with hardly any shrimp... read more

This is my "go-to" restaurant for lunch, after work drinks or dinner. The fish is fresh and very well prepared. It is hard for me to select something beside my "favorites" but when I venture into a special, I am always delighted. The service is excellent!

A charming oyster bar and seafood restaurant with friendly staff and a pleasant decor, complete with a startling reproduction of Sargent's Madame X over the bar. We ate here twice while we were in Greenwich, once for lunch and once for dinner. I, myself, am very partial to oysters, so particularly loved the oysters from Massachusetts, which I had on... More

I like this restaurant, especially sitting at the bar to eat. But I noticed that the menu hasn't changed much over the last 3 1/2 years. It could use some new items on the menu.

Elm Street Oyster House is an old Greenwich lunch/after-work drinks favorite. The atmosphere is pleasant, the oysters are beyond fresh (although they do tend to run out of fan favorites fairly early on in the day), the wine list is solid. My advice, however, is not to venture beyond oysters and wine, especially if you are a seafood fanatic who... More

One of our favorite lunch spots. We have always enjoyed both the food and service and this visit noticed some updates to the décor. Naturally, my husband ordered the oysters to start - always a good choice. I had the lobster and spinach risotto - YUM! My husband tried the cod cakes and really like them. Recommend lunching here and... More

A small, local restaurant with good food. I love the seafood chili. It is listed as an appetizer. I have it as an entree.

I have been here numerous times and always enjoy the experience. The servers are friendly, but I usually sit at the bar and have gotten to know them pretty well over the years. I like their wine selections and they have good beer on tap, no alcohol here! Portions are good size but at times I find them to be... More

Elm Street is a really nice, cozy spot, just off the main drag in Greenwich. Helpful, knowledgeable staff. This review is just average, because our lunch didn't quite hit the high points, but this is still a nice spot. To be fair, we chose the "cheap" ($22 for 3 courses) menu, offered during Greenwich Restaurant Week, so we weren't expecting... More

The food was mostly very good. We had tuna and monkfish which were both excellent and an excellent molten chocolate cake. The New England clam chowder however was watery and lacking clams. The sevice was a bit too fast. If you put your fork down someone was there to clear your plate. All in all however the main courses were... More
