Late one afternoon in mid-march, as winter stubbornly continued to dictate the weather patterns in North America, I had a sudden and unforeseen yearning for apple pie. This was highly unusual as I was in the midst of a highly successful low-carb diet and had steadfastly committed to my austere regimen. Also, I have always had some fondness for that... More

I have had the opportunity to eat at J. Gilbert's in the past, but recently I dined there twice in the space of about two weeks. Both meals were excellent. Unlike most steakhouses, J. Gilbert's is not a totally ala carte menu. The steaks and some other entrees allow you to select your sides from a generous list. Other items... More

We had a birthday dinner on a Monday night at J.Gilbert's. Upon entering the restaurant, we were asked if we had a reservation which we didn't and was told that we needed to sit in the noisy bar area. We said no and asked if we could wait for a table in the dining room, well the hostess gave us... More

Excellent steaks and seafood. The cold seafood platter appetizer is superb. Food quality is first rate as is the service. This is a great choice for a business meal or a special occasion but prices would keep it off my list for regular family dinners. Comparable to a Ruth's Chris or Smith and Wollensky in my experience except the side... More

Lovely bar and bartenders. Great menu. Can be a bit pricey but hey!!! Good stuff comes at a cost. If you go often, the bartender remembers your name and your last drink! Awesomeness at its best.

I love j. gilberts. The food is outstanding. Great steaks and side dishes. Outstanding staff. Bar is excellent. Wonderful, albeit busy gathering place. This is all toped off with the smell of the wood fired ovens. You will not be disappointed.

Given their high ratings for food and service, we were expecting a little bit more for the price of their food. Overall their food is good, but they don't knock it out-of-the-park. The Crab Bisque at almost $10 seems like a cup of soup masquerading as a bowl. The wait staff puts a Tablespoon of crab in the center of... More

It's a real treat to have such a great place in my town. We've celebrated anniversaries and graduations here and have always been pleased with the food and service. Each steak has been so tender that knives are optional. The sides are as delicious and could be meals on their own. Desserts are as beautiful as they are delicious. My... More
