We go to Gilberts maybe three times a year for a special treat. It is a bit pricey, but always excellent!

We went there with a group of 18 we were seated at three different table and had two waitresses. Let me start off by saying the food was good and the service was great up to the point when we went to settle our bills. The chaos and frustration in the next 30 minutes took away any good thoughts about... More

We've visited with family several times and always enjoy delicious well prepared dishes. The menu, broad enough to cater to most anyone, ranges from raw seafood to superb steaks and chops. The wine list is very good and service is excellent. We'll be back!

Have been a loyal customer of this restaurant for years. Food is very good but pricey. Had a very bad episode with a waiter and the manager last November and haven't been back since. If you are ordering wine by the glass, be careful and understand the pricing. Evidently they have started to think they are located in Manhatten and... More

When J. Gilbert's first appeared in Glastonbury it was everything you would want a steak house to be...10 or 15 years ago....and we loved it. But then tastes changed and J. Gilbert's didn't, but I am happy to say that is no longer the case. J. Gilbert's is everything you would want in a steak house in 2014. Everything is... More

Went to J Gilbert's because it has the highest reviews for Glastonbury, and I can see why. Since I went solo I decided to go towards closing time in the hope that it wouldn't be too busy, but the place was packed until after they closed. It was easy for me to sneak in, but for 2 or more people... More

My husband and I went to J. Gilbert's on Monday night to celebrate several occasions. As usual, the meal was excellent. The filet mignon was perfect and the potatoes au gratin were delicious. Because it was Monday night, we were able to buy a bottle of wine for half-price, an unexpected bonus. The service was also great. Highly recommend J.... More

Its delicious food, don't get me wrong but the prices are sky high. Food wise the best restaraunt in Glastonbury but value isn't there.

Very good food and service, but on the expensive side and quite noisy. It is over $30 for salmon and over $40 for steak. Drinks run $10 or so. The food was fine, but the noise turned us off. We could hardly converse. We will not return. We can find a quiet place at these prices.

We recently dined here and often do. I come for the steaks while my wife prefers seafood. I can say we have never had a disappointing visit. Nice selection of wine and food. While a wee bit pricey we find its worth the cost on occasion. They have recently offered a delicious coconut cake for dessert which is one of... More
