We visited to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and enjoyed our evening. Our waiter, Michael, was outstanding and a great personality. We both had an unadvertised special, duck breast, and it was delicious. It is a little noisy, but we had selected a very nice Montepulciano to sip, and by the time Michael opened the second bottle it was not even... More

Attentive staff, well balanced menu, easy parking. We had a friend visiting from Florida. We all enjoyed everything.

We took my aunt for a birthday lunch here and enjoyed our meal. The staff was friendly and attentive. My aunt ordered the lemon risotto with grilled scallops. They were by far The best meal of the day. The rigatoni bolognese was also very tasty. I had the chicken parmesan. It was good but unremarkable. My wife had a chicken... More

Went with friends for dinner. My wife's chicken entree was very unremarkable, and the "salad" was just lettuce. My entree, the summer gnocchi, was very good, but included Kalamata olives, which I had specifically asked to be excluded on my Salad Toscana (which was also very good, with warm polenta croutons). The Boci Ball dessert was tasty, but the total... More

The value proposition is much better at this max's than the others. Generally Max's is the best of the food hierarchy in central Connecticut. Some times they get carried away with the prices for this market. Not here good food nice atmosphere.....

Max Amore never fails us. The price is perfect for the great service and quality of food. The ambiance is classy but not snobby. It's always packed but isn't too loud. Nor does it feel crowded. I'd make reservations for weekend dinners. Max's has great regular and gf menus and the service has been consistent and friendly. Waitstaff are on... More

Have met with friends several times in the past few months and have never been disappointed. Relaxed atmosphere, good food, wonderful desserts. Service great, we were never rushed and stayed for hours just catching up. Definite recommendation.

Max Amore is our family's favorite restaurant. Lunch, drinks, just dessert, or dinner....always delicious, always reasonable, always impeccable service. Do not miss the Salad Toscana, and definitely have a cocktail. And dessert!

If I was to split my ranking into food and service I would give the food a 4 and the service a 2 leading to my 3 star rating. I went to dinner with friends. The four of us had drinks, apps and dinner. Our waitress was nice but never around, we waited about 15 minutes for our initial order... More
