We were a little overcome by the noise level when we first walked in but it's the happy noise of a local pub! My portobello sandwich and homemade fries were delicious. My husband had their homemade ham and split pea soup. He thought it was the best he'd ever had (except for mine)! My only complaint would have been the... More

I've been to Birch Hill several times now and have not been disappointed. Service has always been excellent; beer selection is great; food is very good - just this side of "excellent."

Birch Hill Tavern is a great place to get together with friends and family. There a two parts to the restaurant. If you want the traditional sit down restaurant there is a separate area for dining. The pub area is in the front part with a great bar and high top tables. I have come here with friends out for... More

Went on a Sunday evening, just getting in town on business. I came from Glastonbury and, honestly, didn't expect to find anything good the farther out I got. But the place is very clean and cozy, great neighborhood pub feel. Had a burger and fries, which were good. Apparently they're big on craft beers, the drafts change quite often and... More

Have been to this restaurant twice and had a great experience each time. Food is delicious - shrimp taco and shrimp quesadilla. Also had the bread pudding which was a killer! Only downside is that it is noisy.

My wife and I enjoyed the visit. Atmosphere is casual. Decor seasoned wood everywhere. Our server Lauren D. was a true professional. She knew the menu inside out and made very helpful suggestions. Our meals were very good. I had the scallops my wife the lobster Mac and cheese. Salad and appetizer great too.

The noise level in this bar/restaurant made it impossible to have any sort of conversation. And, as another reviewer wrote, it was so bad that at times it was painful. There is a wall separating the bar area from the dining area but it is open at the top and sides--not a sound buffer at all. When we first went... More

Friend suggested meeting here for lunch. Great recommendation! Started with drinks as usual, coffee&Baileys and Dewars. 3 meals included Grilled Cheese with several cheeses, bacon, tomato, Cheddar burger with mushrooms & a Shrimp Taco. All very good. I like Tacos and I like Fish but I have never found a Fish Taco that I liked. This was my first Shrimp... More

I've lived in Glastonbury now for about 1 year and have tried many restaurants in town. Birch Hill is one of the closest to our house and a place we've been to about 10x. First of all, I have always had really great food here. The fare is stepped up pub food with a diverse menu. They put very subtle... More

My wife and I visit this place regularly. Great service, good beer in a nice environment. It's usually our first choice for a night out. The beer nights are special with family and friends!!
