good wine list, good food, but the resturant is in the process of closing. Its too bad, small local spot in an area that lacks resturants

Stonewell Restaurant is a tired old time eatery. Most food tastes frozen. Menu is too large to be fresh and tasty. Interior has not been updated for at least 20 years. Service is o.k.

I'm sorry to hear that you weren't more impressed with our dishes, Kem. While we love our vintage interior, our food is anything but -- you can be sure we're serving up fresh and flavorful dishes to our guests! That said, if anything is ever less than stellar, don't hesitate to let our team members know. We'd want to fix... More

We tried the Sunday brunch here for the first time and found it to be a very good experience. The atmosphere and staff were very friendly, The food was quite varied with breakfast and lunch/dinner options. Breakfast included fresh made ommelettes and waffles as well as pancakes, french toast, sausage, bacon, home fries and eggs benedict. Post breakfast options started... More

I'm so glad that you enjoyed your Sunday brunch with us! It sounds like you sampled a wide variety of our menu, which is wonderful. What's better than starting your Sunday off with a nice meal and a mimosa? We do offer a wide variety of dinner items, as well as some great specials throughout the week — I would... More

we used a voucher to go to this restaurant. We chose the prime rib--I wanted it done medium, my husband wanted his done meduim-well. His came rare in the center, mine was well done, so they mixed up our orders and then some. the food was barely lukewarm.would not go again. Not many people there when we went, but waitress... More

Fran, I'm very sorry to hear about the mix-up with your Prime Rib orders. They should have come out exactly as you ordered them, and it's disappointing that this took away from your meal so much. I hope that you had the opportunity to bring this up to your server, because we would have been more than happy to report... More

This is a nice little restaurant. We went on Monday night, and it was quiet. The service was nice. Extensive menu. I enjoyed my meal (Veal Jerusalem), but my coworker was not impressed by his steak.

Thanks for coming in for a meal, Matt! While I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed your service and your Veal Jerusalem, I'm sorry that your coworker was not impressed with his steak. If you know what in particular he didn't like about it, I would love to hear from you. Please feel free to contact me, and I'd be... More

I recently purchased a gift certificate on Restaurants .com and wanted to give this place a shot. My husband and I decided to go on a Sunday afternoon. When we arrived we were seated and were given lunch menus. We noticed their brunch buffet was still available for another ½ hour so we decided to go with that. My husband... More

Lisa, this is certainly not how your bill should have been managed, and I’m sorry that a tip was added without discussing it with you first. This is not how I would expect our staff to behave, so it's very disappointing to hear this. I wish myself or a manager on duty would have had to opportunity to speak with... More

This is a horrible restaurant and we will never return! Went on a Saturday night guests 4. There were hardly anyone there. The food was awful! Seafood was still frozen Gordon's fisherman seafood tastes better. Plates range from $17.00+ the steak was all fat. The inside is dirty and outdated. Do not waste your money!

Nicozey, I’m very sorry that you weren't impressed with our dishes or our decor. It’s quite disappointing to read, since we pride ourselves on serving up fresh ingredients and flavorful meals. Your seafood and steak should always come out piping hot and cooked to perfection, so I will absolutely be following up with the kitchen team about this. The atmosphere... More

It’s great to hear your enjoyed our old charm and rustic feel. Our fireplaces add a great historic feel to the place, which is very cozy this time of year. We came across this restaurant by driving past. It looked pretty from the outside. On the inside it is less than pretty. It is drab and poorly lit. It reminded us of an old hall rather than a restaurant. It is certainly dated and in need of renovation. Not sure what the owner is trying to portray. When we got... More

Friendly and attentive staff is very important to me, so I apologize about your experience with our hostess. This is certainly not our customer service standard, and it’s quite disappointing that this was the impression that you got. We smiled when we walked in and saw an elderly man playing the hits of 1930 or 1940 on an out-of-tune piano and realized the restaurant itself probably hadn't changed much since then. The service was friendly, the food was fine, and the experience something that kept us smiling. It's the kind of place you find by accident and makes... More
