Great BBQ

Low key indoor/outdoor place with awesome beef Bbq. Friendly staff. Like being in Texas. Get the platter with 2 or 3 different meats. Good sides too

Food was always good even if they don't have beef ribs. We called in the order at 3:15, told it would be 2 hours because they were so busy. Got there at 5:15, food wasn't ready, had to wait another 20 minutes and place was empty! Also charged more than website prices. Apparently they haven't gotten around to updating the... More

When I expressed a hankering for a pulled-pork sandwich while at a baseball game, my friend suggested Flaggstead Texas BBQ, a place he'd driven by but never visited. We stopped on the way home. The sandwich was huge and was the best pulled-pork I've ever had! And at $6.99 it was a bargain - cheaper than the pulled-pork I would... More

Tried this place for the first time and was excited because I like Texas BBQ. Tried to go inside the tired looking house that holds the restaurant when it was supposed to open at 11:30 am. Doors were locked and it looked like no one was there. Started walking away and a man unlocked the door. Went in to order... More

We're so lucky to have a ribs joint in town. Part of the charm of roadside bbq is that it's not a cookie-cutter chain place -- not even close. If you're prissy, yeah, you won't get it, go to Ruby Tues. Don't get your hands dirty. We love sitting out on the funky deck under the shade of a huge... More

.....and it was delicious! This is a small local place with all of it home-cooked/smoked on site, so it is authentic. In the Texas style. Brisket, chicken, pulled pork, beans, cole slaw, jalepeno cornbread, we ate every bite. Didn't do beer, but they had lots of it. There are two small dining rooms and appropriate decor if you want to... More

The building grounds need to be mowed, windows cleaned from cobwebs and filth, replace broken windows, overall makeover needed inside and out. Front entrance is overgrown with weeds! Food is okay, but could be better. Why are there flies swarming around? Servers do NOT wear gloves, and food was served cold. This place use to be good, but has gone... More

Although I believe the food is authentic Texas style, when it arrives less than warm, you don't get a good feeling. Also, the wait staff didn't seem very competent or attentive for how few people were there on a Sat night. Rushing around, but inefficient. Like others said, they were out of a few things. Think we will try elsewhere... More

I have to admit that my coworkers love Flaggstead but I think it's just average. There is no consistency in the food. I have been there when it's exceptional and the next week it's just poor. On my last trip the pulled pork was so salty I couldn't even eat it Give it a try, maybe you will hit them... More

At least once a month we get a craving for authentic south western barbecue. Fortunately, the Flaggstead Texas Smokehouse is nearby with all the entrees we could hope for. Usually we settle on a half rack of ribs, which are juicy and loaded with meat, with a coleslaw side. On other occasions, the moist half chicken with taco sides is... More
