Best BBQ in town

I wanted to like Wilson's a lot more than I did. Don't get me wrong, this is good BBQ at a good price. But I've been to some of the best BBQ places in the nation -- Rendezvous in Memphis comes to mind as well as Sonny's in Dallas. This doesn't compare, but it's certainly OK when you're in New... read more

if you're looking for great bbq, head to fairfield, ct. for bbq at wilson's. on this visit we had outstanding pulled pork and brisket sandwiches, with sides of cornbread, and french fries. the sandwiches come with pickles, cole slaw or potato salad. a variety of drinks are available. there is an indoor and outdoor seating area, or you can do... It has a small indoor seating area, but nobody cares. The food is incredible. The food here is just as good, maybe better than our favorites.from various places we lived in the south. You can tell the staff really cares about their food and their business. If Food Network has recently re-aired their episode from Guy Fieri's Diners, Dives, and... More

This is a very informal, mostly take-out place with only a few tables inside and picnic tables out front (on Rte. 1) for warm weather. They serve a dry rub, really smoked bbq; don't expect the stuff that's cooked with sticky sweet sauce. Sauce comes on the side, at varying levels of spiciness. I really love their chicken, succulent and... More

If you like "dry" ribs, as well as great barbeque brisket, there are few better places anywhere, let alone in Fairfield county, than Wilsons (that's his name). This is a small joint, probably better for takeout, on the Post Road in Fairfield near the train station. Not cheap, but good ribs rarely are. Try the baked beans and corn bread... More

What a great lunch I had this past weekend. I have been living in CT my whole life and did not realize this place until I saw it on triple D. It is a very small place, but the food was spot on. I ordered the brisket and sausage w/ potato salad, cole slaw, and cornbread. The brisket was flavorful,... More

Wow, what a fabulous meal - we had the 3 meat option with 4 sides and corn bread and having traveled throughout the south and having eaten a lot of bbq, this one is right up there with our best!!! I can't believe i only live one town over and finally had a meal there. Thanks to Wilson's - well... More

It does not worth a trip; sadly disappointed after seeing the report of DD&D-Food Network. While we waited for our food, we saw that even their "Grab and Go" service was not that good, a client was complaining for a wrong order. Our food came out quickly, but the taste was plain, nothing extraordinary; the brisket was fatty and the... More

Recently moved to Fairfield and was really looking forward to this restaurant as I love good BBQ. To start with, the prices seemed high for the end product. The brisket was incredibly fatty. The ribs were dry and did not really fall off the bone like other great BBQ I've had both locally and in the midwest where I used... More

It was average barbeque at a good price. The baked macaroni and cheese was good. The greens were spicy which I like and the meat was tender. Not a bad place to order take out.
