The most popular item on the menu of this celebrated pizza place is a vegetarian one. That was very inviting. Frank Pepe takes a lot of pride in their fresh tomato pie. July-September is a good time to visit Frank Pepe’s pizzeria. The think crust is well made and tasty, not doughy at all. The tomatoes are rightly done with... More

Pepe's has the best pizza in the area with great sauce and a perfect crust in the coal ovens. New fresh mozzarella pizza and the always amazing summer pie are highlights of the menu (as well as the white clam if you're looking for something a little different). Can get crowded on the weekends, but if you come in later... More

I was excited to try Frank Pepe's pizza and we weren't disappointed. We tried the fresh tomato pie that is available from July-September. It was wonderful. Just the right amount of cheese, tomato, and basil. Great place!

Went here for a bite on our way back to NY. The restaurant was packed but we managed to get a table without waiting. We were having a late lunch and didn't want to over do it so decided to go with a small pizza. It was more than enough for the two of us as a medium looked like... More

The photo shows the New Haven Location - not the Fairfield location. As a born and bred New Yorker who has lived in Connecticut for 35 years, this state has no idea of what good pizza really is. By CT standards it is decent, but most any corner pizzeria in the boroughs of NYC has better. Definitely over-hyped by CT... More

Well.. taste is subjective, that is for certain, however I don't know if Pepe's lived up to the hype of the best pizza in america that is often touted by locals, and online gastro-oriented list sites. I have been there twice now. I was pleasantly surprised by their summer pizza (seasonal??) with fresh tomato and mozzarella, however their cheese had... More

The pizza was big and thin. Figure on spending $15.00+ for a medium pizza with one item. The red sauce had very little seasoning for my taste but was good. The salad was disappointing with very little dressing and no romaine lettuce. The pizza was good cold the next day. Service was good at the Manchester location

I really don't understand what all the fuss is about, They are quite famous, in New Haven, CT were they originated (I believe). I couldn't wait to try the joint when they opened in Fairfield but I really don't like the place. The brick oven pizza is only mediocre and is always burned around the edges of the crust, the... Conveniently located off 95. Long waits every time we have visited. Very good white clam pizza (add pepper flakes), roasted pepper pizza (they roast them in their ovens), and plain cheese pizza. The big salad can feed the whole family - simple but good. Prices are high for pizza, but worth it. Atmosphere is "pizza joint" & service is "matter... More
