Very nice meal on the outdoor patio!

My wife and I enjoyed this meal because of the lovely outdoor patio, superb service and the owner's decision to substitute a more expensive sea bass entrée for the cheaper salmon entrée my wife had ordered. We would have left because we were trying to stay within our budget, and his willingness to... read more

Avellino's is one of the more popular & consistently good restaurants in S Ct whether on your own or with couples. Great variety of Italian dishes & specials. We've been multiple times over the past year & find it is a place you depend on. I particularly enjoyed the pizza with its thin crust & mix of vegetables & meats.... More

On this visit, my wife and I opted for take out. The eggplant parmigiana grinder ( up in CT, a hero is called a grinder!) was one of the best I've ever tasted, even after a trip home. Although the grinder roll will get soggy, it was sono buoni . The veal parm dinner with angel hair pasta was also... More

Combination of friendly service and surprisingly good Italian dishes. Consistent on each visit. Certainly worth a try!

We've been going to Avellino's for years. Great Italian restaurant with reliable excellent menu choices. Friendly service, close to downtown, it's become a regular on the rotation.

I have been dining at Avelino's for fifteen years. Every dining experience is equal to one another. The staff is friendly and attentive and sure, there are times when the place gets busy, but the results are always excellent. The food and quality are right up there with the best if you want good old fashioned "Homemade Italian" with a... More

Great place to have a delightful meal. The salad had a really good vinegar base, one of the specials was homemade cavatelli but I wanted it with sausage and San Marzano tomatoes (which is on the rigatoni) - my wish was granted and it was wonderful! If I had a last meal wish - this would be it :). Staff... More

As mentioned in a few reviews, Avellino's has been around for decades and, in my opinion, will be around for many more, we have never had a bad experience here, really not sure about the few negative reviews but definitely not reflective of Avellino's, Each and every aspect of this restaurant is superb, parking can be a little tricky at... What a great time we had! The staff is attentive, the owner made us feel like family, and the food was great. The menu has lots of yummy dishes - I had the Gamberi al Limon (shrimp with a wonderful lemon sauce, served with saffron risotto. Dessert was a wonderful hazelnut confection with whipped cream and raspberry sauce; perfect ending... More

Was surprised to learn that Avellino's has been in business more than 20 years. Originally opened as a pizza/pasta place they've expanded the menu and remodeled the bar and dining area. Truthfully, their food was not bad; but it's also nothing to write home about. Just another Fairfield County "pretend restaurant'; which makes for just average dining. However, after being... More
