Excellent seafood.

The seafood here is great. You can tell that this place must be busy at night and on the weekends. The staff seemed like they were busy, although we were there when they first opened for lunch. Don't let the empty parking lot fool you - the staff parks behind the restaurant. There's no sign with... read more

Clearly the waitress we had on a Friday night at 6:30 did not want any part in providing anything remotely related to service. No bread, no water, not even a drink order before she took 15 minutes to ask for food order. Our request for water and wine list went to management and that didn`t even result in an apology... More

We had a luncheon following our mother's funeral. The seafood and service lifted us up! Very friendly, tasty, and professional. If we come to Fairfield again, we now know where to go besides Rawley's Hot Dog joint ( best hot dogs in the USA) Thank you good folks at Black Rock Oyster Bar!

I had lunch here recently after driving by for over ten years. I live locally and was pleasantly surprised with my meal and the restaurant. I love seafood and I am glad that I now know that there is a good local spot to get fresh seafood. I had the lobster roll and it was really good but could have... More

My wife and son enjoyed a Mother's Day lunch at this small place. But an oyster house that shows like 20 varieties on the menu and only has Blue Points? (They apologized that the Saturday evening crowd had cleaned them out and they were waiting for a new seafood shipment). In any event, the oysters that they did have were... More

It is hard to find nice fresh seafood around here and most "seafood" restaurants have frozen seafood they get once in a while. This place has fresh oysters that taste fresh and they do not have frozen seafood. Limited menu due to only fresh seafood, but enough of a variety to make almost everyone happy. Oysters, cod, bay and sea... More

This is a great friendly relaxed place to go enjoy fresh seafood. The portions are large. The chowder is one of the best I've ever had. My husband ordered the bay scallops and they always are an excellent choice. I had the tilapia special, which was delicious - gently broiled fish that was fresh and came with a tarragon cream... Terrific assortment of oysters and other assorted seafood. Nice atmosphere. Good for date. Only slightly pricey.

Great place for a family seafood dinner. Semi-formal, NOT a place for the land lover. Decent bar, fairly priced. Unless you specifically ask for a melted piece of butter, you will be given a combination of oil and salt free liquid butter.

The restaurant atmosphere is warm and inviting, the menu is impressive, and the food is scrumptious! Sat at the bar with a friend and had full bellied fried clams (so rarely found) and onion rings- breaded lightly and cooked to perfection---fresh and hot! The bartender was delightful and she gamely looked up and concocted a French 75 cocktail in honor... More
