Gotta say we kinda had higher hopes. In fairness the service was quite good (at least until time to check out). We ordered New England clam chowder, steak tips and pasta primavera. I would order the pasta again as it really was quite good. The New England chowder would have been sent back if I had ordered it as it... More

This place has it all...I've never heard a bad thing about anything on the menu (I love their rigatoni dish!). Service is quick and very pleasant, with honest opinions when asking for suggestions. The restaurant is conveniently located in the heart of Fairfield on the Post Road.In warmer weather it's a treat to be able to sit outside and enjoy... More

I went to the OPT twice this past week. The first was on Tuesday, when I had luncheon with ten women. Everyone loved what they had; mine was the steak sandwich with a salad accompaniment. I enjoyed it so much that after raving about it to my husband, he insisted we go there Friday evening. We were not disappointed. We... More

For the cost, didn't really get adequate portions. I got the lobster cucumber rolls (tiny and all you could taste was the cucumber) and the Lobster ravioli (very good but only a few pieces). Probably won't go back. Nice ambiance.

Met a friend for drinks yesterday evening. It took us 35 minutes to get a glass of wine. The waiter refused to serve us because we sat at the bar restaurant. The bartender did not bother to ask us for our orders. Even getting a glass of water took 15 minutes. The wine was over priced for a happy hour.... More

The food and service are outstanding. We ate al fresco and had the times of our lives in downtown Fairfield. The oysters were fresh and delicious, the salmon "to die for" and the desert du jour was scrumptious. We are looking very much forward to going again. CAN'T BE BEAT!!! Totally customer-friendly!!!

The meal was eminently forgettable. I had a Lobster role that was less than fresh. The toasted hot dog bun was more noteworthy that the lobster. The accompanying French Fries were overcooked. Lyn had a Chicken Salad sandwich that was unimpressive. We visited on an Amazon Coupon

Delicious! This was my first time at Old Post Tavern. The menu had a lot of choices, so I chose the Tarragon Roasted Organic Chicken and a Caesar Salad. The Chicken was served with mashed potatoes and haricot verts. The tarragon sause was delicious - my only complaint was that I should have ordered extra! Beans were cooked perfectly, potatoes... This beige and woody bar on the Post Road in Fairfield has a varied, eclectic menu that goes well beyond the usual steaks and burgers...not that I would criticize the excellent steaks, chops and burgers there. Since there were three of us, we got to work through the menu a bit. Barbara (my wife) though her organic chicken was a... More

Came here the day before we ran the Fairfield Half Marathon for lunch and had very good experience. My dad and I each had the lobster roll with side salad and were very pleased. The lobster roll was delicious with plenty of real chunks of lobster and a tasty dressing. The salad was great as well. I have no idea... More
