This place looks like it will be charming and the decor certainly is. The bar staff lack said charm, they were far more interested in the game that was blaring than customer service

My husband and I went into old post tavern before a show at FTC for apps and drinks. Could not believe the "vibe" in this place. Very snobby hostess and patrons. We were looked at like we just dropped down from another planet!! Will not spend my $$ in this place.

Visited for a Sunday lunch. Service was very good. Fairly good selection offering both breakfast and lunch. Quality was good, price was appropriate for the location and items. There were a few annoying flies that circled our table a few times during our visit that kept this review from being a notch higher.

Burger was good but nothing to write home about, same with the Tuna. Steak tips appetizer was pretty good. Desserts were pretty to look at but it seemed like more attention was given to presentation rather than quality. Modeled after an old Tavern the ambiance is nice, and staff was nice.

Blown away by this place! Couldn't believe the fantastic menu selections offered... Tuna tartare to start, Pan-seared scallops w/risotto, great selection of beers and top shelf cocktails. The dinner specials were enough to get me thinking about the next time I could be in Fairfield to enjoy another meal at the Old Post Tavern.

I have only had the hamburger and sloppy joe sliders which are from the bolognese sauce. I like the bolognese sauce there. for three sliders dinner for $3 good deal though will add... More

My wife (two times) and I (one time) have eaten at OPT before and were very satisfied. However, this evening's (Sunday evening) dinner was embarrassing and a rip-off. We do NOT ever expect to visit OPT again. The service was VERY SLOW and VERY POOR. Never offered fresh pepper for our Caesar salads. Never offered bread. Never received one of... More

The Old Post Tavern in Fairfield, is a great place for a romantic dinner for two or a festive group at the bar. The food is excellent with many choices. Lunch is also a great option if you are in down town Fairfield. The only draw back is parking can be a hassle, there is no designated parking area.
