This beige and woody bar on the Post Road in Fairfield has a varied, eclectic menu that goes well beyond the usual steaks and burgers...not that I would criticize the excellent steaks, chops and burgers there. Since there were three of us, we got to work through the menu a bit. Barbara (my wife) though her organic chicken was a... More

Came here the day before we ran the Fairfield Half Marathon for lunch and had very good experience. My dad and I each had the lobster roll with side salad and were very pleased. The lobster roll was delicious with plenty of real chunks of lobster and a tasty dressing. The salad was great as well. I have no idea... More

Living in a CT town on Long Island Sound should prove conducive to good seafood. Unfortunately fopr this new venue on the Post Rd near the Bridgeport line, this is not the case. SKIMPY is the adjective to describe most servings. The lobster roll $$$ had the roll barely covered and the Manhatten Clam Chowder was missing clams. Hopefully we... More

Pleasant atmosphere, excellent food, attentive staff, nice outdoor dining area. The food is consistantly good at OPT; well prepared and srved by a knowledgeable staff - never had a bad or even OK meal! The grand seafood raw plate is to die for. The only possible downside is that it's sometime tough to find a parking place - unless the... More

We had a very enjoyable dinner. We ordered from the Restaurant Week menu-$30 per person. I ordered salad, salmon with asparagus and cauliflower, and the sorbet trio. Everything was freshly prepared and tasty. My husband had clam chowder, herb roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and mushrooms,, and NY cheesecake. H enjoyed his as well. In addition we had excellent service.

We were recently in Fairfield and searching for a restaurant for a late night summer---by good luck discovered the Old Post Tavern. We had outstanding service, delicious food (everyone ate every bite of food---nothing left!) excellent desserts and a lovely atmosphere. If ever in Fairfield again---we will be sure to stop in for another delicious meal. Kudos to the chef,... More

My husband and I started going to the Old Post Tavern when I decided to have my milestone birthday party in their private room upstairs. That party, over a year ago, was a wonderful experience, and even though the staff seems to have changed almost completely, we still find the same friendly, accommodating service, and tasty food. We like sitting... More

My experience started off great as I am visiting my sister in Fairfield, CT. We stopped in to meet a friend for happy hour, 2 for 1 I guess it is.. Unfortunately we did get there maybe 30 minutes before happy hour was ending. Needless to say we had our first drink and as 6 o'clock was approaching the nice... More

A place to eat. A menu that is typical for a "tavern" - you would find all standard items there. The service is on par with what would be expected in downtown Fairfield. Food is Ok. But all-in-all there's nothing special. There are other places around for a better meal.

Stopped in on a Tuesday night-- ate in the bar area. Food was plentiful and good, maybe too many options on the menu? Had the Scallop entree- split it between 2 people and no one left hungry. Drinks were ample and cold, bread basket was yummy! Server was very nice and a little slow. Will return as it is a... More
