One of Fairfield's go to restaurants which we & others continue to visit

Wonderful food, easily accessible to Fairfield County & I-95, busy & somewhat cramped restaurant. Recommend getting there early. Could also be worth it to eat at the bar if you're a twosome- then off to a movie or wherever. Tremendous variety of food & drink choices; superb wait staff; parking can... read more

I come into the area 2x a year, and always make sure to stop in at last once during my trip. The bar has a nce local group and fills up fast. The dining room does as well but has outdoor seating which they have enlarged. The menu is diverse and yummy. From salads to meat, fish to sandwiches. Servers... More

I haven't eaten here since before the renovation which greatly improved it's appearance. Service was very good. Very nice selections on the menus. A little on the pricy side but not exorbitant. Parking is still somewhat limited. I would probably upped my over all impression as very good except my dinner was a bit on the salty side which my... More

We came by Martel by chance & what a fabulous surprise! The patio seating is intimate, with cheerful blue and white bistro tables and chairs, surrounded by beautiful pots of lavender and other flowers. Everything on the menu looked enticing; I tried the frisée salad with bacon vinaigrette and a poached egg. Delicious with cubes of yummy bacon! Their signature... More

The space itself is small, so tables are close together. The last time there my husband and I sat at a table in the bar area which was less crowded. The reason to go here is the food! Very delicious. Service is also very good as was the wine I chose from the wine list. My husband always gets the... More

Went to eat here with a friend. We were a bit pressed for time but made it in and out just fine. Service was great and the food was amazing. The patio area was a bit tight and noisy (from the traffic) but nonetheless the ambiance was great. It is fairfield so expect it to be a bit pricy. But... More

My husband and I and occasionally our fussy twelve yr old go here several days a week. The food is consistently great as is the service. We really only eat here when going out locally. The French onion soup beats our recent soup experience IN Paris. Kudos to Marty and his staff for a grea job.

This is a small bistro with a busy bar...if you are lucky enough to grab a table outside on a nice day you will be well rewarded...we were able to do just that on Mother's Day and got away from the CROWDS. Very diverse menu for the size of the restaurant. Tuna tartar sandwich was great!

Martel's is great for family or dinning with friends after work. The bar is hopping every night. I usually go there with my family. We like to eat in the back room away from the bar area. It can be loud when there is a crowd. They don't take reservations, so we always go early. I have been there with... More

Very busy bistro with a good selection of classics and outstanding specials. Take the front room as the back room can be very noisy. Fun place.
