Small, intimate and GREAT!

This is a small bistro with a busy bar...if you are lucky enough to grab a table outside on a nice day you will be well rewarded...we were able to do just that on Mother's Day and got away from the CROWDS. Very diverse menu for the size of the restaurant. Tuna tartar sandwich was great!

My husband and I and occasionally our fussy twelve yr old go here several days a week. The food is consistently great as is the service. We really only eat here when going out locally. The French onion soup beats our recent soup experience IN Paris. Kudos to Marty and his staff for a grea job.

Martel's is great for family or dinning with friends after work. The bar is hopping every night. I usually go there with my family. We like to eat in the back room away from the bar area. It can be loud when there is a crowd. They don't take reservations, so we always go early. I have been there with... More

Very busy bistro with a good selection of classics and outstanding specials. Take the front room as the back room can be very noisy. Fun place.

Good food, horrible slow service! Just spent Mother's Day afternoon there. We had a mid-afternoon reservation with a party of nine. Restaurant was not busy (there may have been 2 or 3 other tables) but the service was slow, slow, slow. The food was good when it finally came out but they missed one of the meals and then it... A great deal. That is, especially if you have a curtain time of 6:00pm nearby. We couldn't believe the number of people here at that time. But, they must have had the same deadline we did. When we left an hour later, the place was jammed. That's when I figured out that the the people who attended the same event... More

Martel's is a local treasure. It is always a warm, welcoming place for lunch or dinner. I love their salads and every now and then I splurge and eat an excellent Croque Monsieur. Always a joy to stop by and have a glass of wine at the bar too!

Bartender Bill is a friend of mine been telling me to visit. Today I did for the first time and it made me want to come back and try many other offerings. Due to the bad weather there haven't been any oysters in the area so I opted for some clams. Fresh and very tasty. Chowder was excellent! I wasn't... More

Had the tuna burger with fries. It was good. I would have loved it a bit more rare, but the bun, the sauce and the fries were tasty. The disappointment was with the wine; we selected the house wine, a Pinot noire - it tasted diluted and almost like cranberry juice. I suggest spending a little extra and going for... More
