Larry's Diner Lives

Don't get me wrong. 55 Degrees offers great food and fine wine. But the part I like best is the old diner known as Larry's, which was formerly on Main Street, subsequently moved to the side street, where this restaurant was built and attached behind it. Most folks may prefer to eat in the modern... read more

I recently had my bridal shower here, and although I was not involved in the planning as much, I can say that the event went off without a hitch. The main floor was perfect for a group of about 35 people. The staff helped with set up, the service was attentive, the menu vast and the food delicious. I heard... More

Hey for those reading this review just so you know we're still waiting on our food. One hour ,one hour impossible!!! Ordered a great bottle of wine (jordan chardonnay ), which we drank before our entrees arrived, such a waste of time and money. If they go out of business , which they should, nobody will miss them. And I... More

Had dinner here as a family with out young son. Excellent atmosphere, good service, and a nice varied and reasonably priced menu. We went on a Sunday night when they had half priced wine bottles. Got an excellent bottle to accompany our meal. Highly recommend this place.

This last trip was just for dessert and a glass of wine. They have a great wine list and their molten lava cake is by far the best I have ever had. We have eaten dinner here before going to Fairfield Theater Company Stage One shows and keep going back. Great food, service and atmosphere.

A nice treat to eat downtown at a classy, Italian restaurant. The ravioli was exceptional and The tomato sauce was one of the best ever eaten! From appetizers to desserts, a great Meal eaten in a pretty setting.

Hello all I was very excited for this restaurant. I tried to get into this restaurant one evening and they were completely booked over 100 bookings...!! So i assumed that it was a great restaurant. I made a reservation and planned for a fantastic evening. The ambiance is nice... bottom floor is a stand up bar with high tables around.... More

I was super excited to come to this place do you have a good glass of wine. The wine list was good but the food was average. Salmon tartare was not very good. It wasn't bad it was just missing something. The other diners I was with had the same experience. I would go back and give it another chance... More

This USED to be our favorite "go to" restaurant for special occasions -- birthdays, Valentine's, anniversary -- the elegant dining room with high ceilings and tablecloths always felt special, we got to know several waiters by sight, some by name, etc... however, the past two visits have been disappointing, and our last visit last evening was awful. We had brought... More

Wow this place is not just bad, it's really bad. The service was horrendous (actually it was non-existent), the food was over-cooked (I had linguine and clams while my friend had a chicken dish - both over-cooked), the portions were small and is was expensive ($18 for a hamburger and fries? Really?). The restaurant was very crowed on a Saturday... More
