So happy we finally made it here! We've been to Essex many times and always passed by the sign at the marina for Marley's, but never went. Finally decided to go and found out you need reservations. So fun to take the one-minute ferry ride over (note: 6 passenger limit). Kinda sets the whole mood of going to an actual... More

We were out looking for a place to eat when we spotted the sign on the building. We did not realize that we had to take a ferry to get to it (2-3 min ride, tops). Not much inside (50 diner ish) but lovely outside with the breeze and the boats. The food was very good, service a little slow... More

We absolutely love this charming little island restaurant in Essex. From the boat ride to get there, to the great views of the water and the boats in the marina, to the wonderful food, what's not to like? We are always greeted warmly, the service is friendly and efficient, and dining at a leisurely pace is encouraged. There is truly... More

Never been to this cute little cafe. You take the pontoon boat over from dock to dock. BYOB. Great sandwiches. Try the Cubano and Pesto Mozzarella panini. Very fun and the prices are great. Essex is a beautiful little town with lots to see and visit. A must do.

My boyfriend and I visited Marleys for the first time last year towards the end of their season, unfortunately for us we were only able to make it one time before they closed! When we heard they were opening back up this season we knew we had to stop by! We both had the "Charles" Benedict, let me tell you... More

There are not many great places to lunch in Essex....but thank goodness there is Marley's. We come by sea and "park" at the Essex Island Marine dock (for free!), and walk up the dock to Marley's. The food is great. I particularly love the BLT's. Maybe I am just hungry, but they always hit the spot. On busy days, the... More

Four of us were looking for a place to go to off the beaten track for breakfast and we found Marley's. It's a two minute free ferry ride to a very beautiful spot. Although the service was a bit slow we didn't mind because of the really nice setting. The poached eggs, crab cakes, eggs home fried potatoes and Caribbean... More

My husband and I stumbled on this wonderful hidden treasure. We had an amazing experience, the Jamaican French toast was nothing we ever had before, so delicious, my husband had the crab Benedict he is still talking about it. Our waitress was Michelle who made our stay so pleasant, we can't wait to go back again, we highly recommend it,... More

Getting there is half the fun. It's on an island - really - and you get there by water taxi in a minute across a very narrow inlet. You can sit indoors but nearly everyone chooses to sit out on the lawn under an umbrella. What a great breakfast or brunch with an interesting a varied menu. Lunch and dinner... More

We had heard from friends in the Essex area that Marley's Octoberfest was lots of fun. !2 or so of us made a reservation and at the appointed time piled into the boat and went to Essex Island. It was a chilly evening, some clouds, but nothing odd for that time of year. Sadly for Marley's all the other reservations... More
