What a Great Surprise

We go by it all the time and decided to stop before the blizzard came. This is a great little place to have a breakfast or lunch. Order from the specials board. Saw a favorable article about this place in the Connecticut magazine and since we were going to a concert nearby; we were hooked. We noticed that the picture in the article showed a limited number of tables, so we called for an early dinner appointment. Usually don't give them for a small party, but since we asked for an early... More

This is a charming little spot in the village of Eastford. I've eaten here for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I had one of the special sandwiches a few days ago. It was turkey and fresh peaches on pumpernickel! Yummy. Peaches were fresh from Buell's Orchards. I had guests visiting from New Mexico who enjoyed dinner there in July. It's fun... More

I'm not often in this end of the state but when I am (every 2-3 weeks) I make a point to stop here for lunch. A friend recommended originally and for me it's a real treat. There is some standard lunch fare but I usually order off the specials board and have never been disappointed... most recently had a chicken... More

Breakfast and lunch with dinner a few times a week. Quiet. Good coffee and tea. Outside dining in summer. Sumptuous sandwiches, meatloaf, soups. Use this as a stopping point on your way to Buell's Orchard to pick up fresh fruit of all kinds, honey, vegetables, apple cider.

We stopped for a quick breakfast/lunch at the Coriander Cafe and were not disappointed. The Greek omelet was wonderful with tasty home fries. Other choices included all sorts of sandwiches on various breads and muffins that looked wonderful. It's a small place with only a few tables but they don't rush you at all. If you want a liquor, it's... More

Coriander is a great place to eat. There are about six tables within a small room cheerfully painted in yellow with local artwork on the walls, as well as a sculpture here and there. The room reminds me of the colors of Provence, France. It is next to the larger room which encompasses the small store and and open kitchen.... More

We had been to Coriander a year ago for a light breakfast. We're not big breakfast people and it wasn't an event to bring us back. However- after surviving the storm that was Hurricane Sandy we made a last minute decision to grab supper here last week. Knowing that it was BYOB we brought a bottle of wine and headed... More

Stopped here for a quick lunch on a local resident's recommendation. We were not disappointed with the food quality, selection or service. The whole grain breads are delicious, and they offer wonderful bakery items. Dining is available inside and outside, but the summertime flies are a real distraction if you eat on the patio. Noticed that a lot of cyclists... More

Great for dinner! Great for lunch! Love their sandwiches, especially the turkey peach melt and smokehouse burger. We all go many times a week.
