My husband and I had breakfast there yesterday, April 14, 2014. The food was tasty and very good. The service was polite and prompt! I would recommend this for all ages and families.

We took my husband's mom there for breakfast (we were visiting from out of state and I had wanted to go someplace else but this restaurant was close by to where his mom lives). I ordered the eggs benedict and they were excellent. The coffee was excellent and hot. My husband ordered a special...banana caramel french toast. Awful for the... More

Food was home cooking and their pie was delicious. Employees were very courteous, always checking back to see if you need anything or if everything was good.

I eat breakfast at The Shack frequently, and I've never been disappointed. The breakfast menu is extensive, and there are also breakfast specials written on the board. I often order 2 eggs sunny side up with home fries, bacon, and rye toast. I've also had various omelets with home fries. No matter what you order, the portions are plentiful, and... More

This place has a pretty good reputation so we thought we'd give it a try. Wife and I ate there last evening. Our first time since they moved out of the original "Shack". The coffee was like tepid water, the chowder was blasé. Both of our meals were just adequate. The prices in all fairness were not bad and did... More

Stopped by for a quick breakfast and it was a fantastic decision. We each tried one of their breakfast platters (The Shanty, French Scramble) and there was so much food. Each platter was served with a huge serving of eggs (with cheese and sausage/ham mixed in) and hash browns. The Shanty had 3 huge pancakes and French Scramble had 6-half... More

Took some out of town friends here for a late breakfast/early lunch. This restaurant is always a great meal for a great price. We are never disappointed.

Visited this restaurant with 6 family members on a Sunday morning. Blackboard specials all sounded interesting, but we stuck with the regular menu on our first visit. The menu includes all the standard breakfast fare with a couple of interesting surprises, including The Mess, which is everything you could order for breakfast all mashed together! That was too much for... More

I came here with a craving for a rueben sandwich,,,,, you know, toasty crunchy rye, salty corned beef, gooey cheese, sauerkraut and savory russian dressing to pull it all together. Unfortunately, the sandwich was a soggy mess and didn't live up to my expectations. The fries were good and the service was friendly but they need to rework the delivery.

We never would have found this place by ourselves. A lady at our hotel in Mystic recommended it and I am so glad she did. It was crowded - there was a line waiting to get in, usually a sign the food is good - and it was. Well worth the wait.
