I have been going to the Beachhead since I was a kid because it is within walking distance of my parents. In the last 10 years or more the service and food have been HORRIBLE. It was expensive, the waitstaff was rude, the owners were awful. They now have new owners or management or something and it is truly a... More

We went there as two couples as neither had been there in over 25 years. We both remembered the good food, the crowds in attendance, and the reasonable prices. Times have changed. The food was rated poor by one, ok by two, and good by one. There were no crowds on a Wednesday night. There were only three other booths... More

We went to dinner on a Friday night when there was an Italian singer there. Our party of 4 arrived at 5:30 and after 30 minutes at the bar we decided to sit in the dining room and orderi our food. We were the first orders of the evening as there was noone in the dining room at that time.... More

Went for the 1st time to the Beachhead since it reopened after the devastating storm last year. It looks bright and cheery and the new bar is a winner. Food was good. Pane cote was very tasty as well as the clams casino. Waiter was a little short with us sometimes but it didn't ruin our great time as we... More

Went for lunch on a Sunday. Small, clean, friendly place on the tidal pond in East Haven, CT. Tables outside on the patio too. Food and service was very good. Prices were moderate, we had one of those Living Social deals to use. Would definitely go again if we were in the neighborhood.

I wrote the glowing review above, about a Sunday night dinner here. It was flawless, fresh, etc. Sadly, we went back a few weeks later, for the same deal on a Wednesday night. It was only OK. I ordered the same entree, as I had loved it so, the first time: Clams in a red linguine sauce. I am something... More

The restaurant has been renovated after being decimated by Tropical Storm Irene and is on a street that dead-ends at a gated condo community. The parking lot is on the left, and the Long Island Sound is on the right. Thankfully, they didn't change the food during the renovation!. My husband had the penne arrabiata, and I ordered the shrimp... More

We went in on a Sunday, for their Wednesday/Sunday special: a real bargain for $15.95 per person. (Choice of soup or salad; entree; & dessert) We had seen the ad in the NH Register several times, and decided to find out what it was all about. We had also read that the restaurant was virtually destroyed by tropical storm 'Irene',... More

I went with my husband, I have no idea the restaurant was open or I had a nice beach rest 4 blocks from my house! Anyways, the food was good- nothing to wow about, however it seems the prices were too high for the quality, area and type of restaurant. They do offer some specials on weekdays, which the price...
