Went there with another couple for dinner and the show at the Good Speed Opera House. I had the the prime rib special with an expresso sauce dip that was out of this world. Everyone else had pasta type dishes that they said were fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant!!! The service was great and they got us to the... More

There are very few places in America than you can have soup, salad and 1/2 panini for for $10.99 and leave the restaurant feeling full. Well here is one! We visit La Vita Gustosa before each Goodspeed Matinee and they never disappoint. My cousin had the steak and arugula salad and expressed "This may well be the best salad I... More

Group of six for dinner, overall the food and presentation were good. Two had chicken piccata which was very tasty, however one piece of my chicken was on the rare side. They did make a price adjustment. The rib dinner with fries was just okay. Lasagna, manicotti and a Bolanesse pasta were all good. Great desserts. Convenient for a pre... More

Living locally, my wife and I have dined here regularly over the years. Wait staff seems to turn over far too often and table service is at best a gamble therefore we always just sit at the bar which has been capably captained by Nick for years. The pizza is by far the best around and the menu is varied... More

We tried a couple times via Groupon and we're happy with the food. The tap water is "horrible" with a sulfur taste. The thin crust pizza is excellent.

This was our first time at La Vita. It was a Saturday night and we had rez for the Goodspeed. We intentionally made our dinner rez early (6pm) - however when we got there it took a while to get seated and then forever for someone to come talk to us about drinks. Once we got service we ordered some... More

If you want the best pizza in the area, go to La Vita's. If you want the best calamari, go to La Vita's. Great eggplant panninis, prime rib. I've never been disappointed there.

Always have loved La Vita. The location is great and very scenic, right across from the Gelston House and The Goodspeed Opera house, along with the CT River and E. Haddam Swing Bridge. Food has always been good, particularly the pizza which is authentic italian and always wonderful (one of my favorite pizzas). Prices are a bit steep but not... More

I loved the vibe felt like you were in a little villa somewhere eating. In a town that takes you back in time!

I started with Eggplant Rolatini – which was very good. However, my lasagna – which was recommended over a couple other Italian dishes was only average. Service was fine. We had a nice table in corner with nice view. But, eating out is about the food, and I just was not impressed by it.
