Roseland pizza has been in Derby since the 1930's (Check the actual decade but they have been here for a Looong time). Their thin crust saves me a trip to New Haven. We have been here several times and never had a bad experience. The pizza is thin and flavorful. If you come for specialty pizza's/food items you will not... More

The food here at Roseland is Fantastic. Tucked away in the corner of Derby Connecticut is a great place for a pizza or any italian food. Friday, Saturday nights you have to call EARLY for pizza take out. It gets so busy that one time I ordered, it took over an hour for my order, but once you smell the... More

Roseland is small - go early to get a table. Very family oriented. The servers are friendly, but can be a little slow when the place is busy. The pizza is outstanding - on a par with the more famous places in nearby New Haven. Not the cheapest pizza around, but a really good thin crust from a coal fired... More

You know you're headed for something good when the area around a restaurant is practically desolate, but the parking lot for the restaurant is bulging with cars on a bitter cold winter night when only the courageous would even attempt to go out. The "small" antipasto is HUGE for two! Delicious sliced Italian meats and cheeses complimented the crisp lettuce,... More

I have been going to this restaurant for as long as I can remember. The food is excellent and even though the prices are very high and the service is sometimes not so good, we still continued to go there for over 20 years because the food is just that good. Lina (the owner) has never been very good with... More

The pizza is renowned in the valley, I can't figure out why. Its an average pizza place that charges alot for a pizza. It seems unorganized and hectic. An older lady I assumed was the owner, was barking orders and socializing. The restaurant is sooo cramped, they pack you in as tight as they can, people waiting for "to go"... More

This is na very populat restaurant with locals. I had never been there, but when I had the opportunity, I found the pizza ingredients to be a cut above the normal (the "extra sharp" provolone cheese was superb). The atmosphere is quite plain, with plates that don't match and small tables. It's located in a rewsidential area, with a neon... More

Having grown up in Derby I cannot say that this has alway been my favorite pizza place. In the old days my family preferred Luigis in Ansonia, River Restaurant in Derby came in second. Roseland pulled up third. Skip ahead 40 years and the only one left is Roseland which is now head and shoulders ahead of any pizza restaurant... More

Pizzas can be very good but don't be surprised by their high prices. Most everything else is ordinary, even though they claim yada-yada ingredients. Portions tend to be too large. It can be crowded and locals have been rude. Service can be like Sallie's; pathetic and rude. Plates, utensils, etc. look like they came from a thrift store. It's kinda... More

My visit to roseland was great, we started with a antipasto which had everything you could imagine in it. It was delicious and enjoyed by all. Next we ordered 2 pizzas, 1 was sausage and the other was just mozzarella ,they were both delicious too. I would recomend this place to anyone who desires a good pizza. The best in the... More
