Great food, great atmosphere, not so great service

The restaurant and bar area is very impressive, decorated beautifully while still feeling comfortable. The menu is a mix of casual comfort foods and pricey surf & turf options. Overall, the food was great, no issues with that. However, we waited nearly 15 mins for our server to come to our table... read more

This is the right place for a drink in good company, celebrate something and also experience decent food. Let's say that the menu is quite predictable: steaks, sandwiches, burghers, salads, some seafood, soup of the day or onion soup etc etc etc A very good and extensive wine collection, many cocktails, 4 tap beers and others by the bottle. So... More

I went with two colleagues for dinner, the choices were excellent, I opted for the crab cakes followed by Shrimp & Scallops with risotto it was really nice. My friend had the beet salad and I was so envious I ordered it for take out for my lunch the following day - it was also delicious. Our server Rocko was... More

I would give better than average because food and experience is consistently better than average. The atmosphere varies depending when you go. I like to sit at the bar and have dinner there . When reading reviews of people who would never go back because thei meal was not done well, why on earth, not send it back ?

This restaurant has a nice atmosphere in general, however, females arriving and/or sitting at the bar...be aware. The food here is quite good and the servers are mostly friendly and warm, however, there is a male host at times who leers and the bar itself seems to attract men who tend to be a bit too aggressive. A recent renovation... More

I was very disappointed with my experience at Max 40. My husband and I went for our Valentine's Day dinner, the night after Valentine's Day which happened to be a very cold Sunday night. The restaurant was quite empty, however the waiter was extremely innatentive. We had to ask someone else to send the waiter over to take our order... More

Pro's and con's- as my title suggests- this place is loud. The noise level is sacrificed for aesthetics- I get it- the place is inviting, with a busy bar, high top tables, banquettes and regular tables. Didn't realize (I guess I should have) that beef is their specialty, although they do offer a good variety of other dishes. Roast best... More

We went to dinner here Saturday night and the service was just a mess from start to finish.. It is so unfortunate because the food is amazing!!! And the atmosphere is so cool and open and modern mixed in with some old woods etc… We want to go back because the food was so great, but due to the service... More

Max 40 has been (somewhat) recently renovated...and it continues. They are taking some of their party space and turning it into an Asian Kitchen, which is sure to thrive, as all of their related restaurants! These guys know the business! My husband and I stopped in on Xmas Eve, for an drink and appetizer. We ended up sharing a delicious... More

A friend and I came here late one evening for drinks. The place was packed which we took as a good sign. Since there was absolutely no room at the bar, the hostess (who was very friendly) offered to sit us at a table. We ended up ordering a few glasses of wine and a pizza to share. The food... More
