I have lived in Danbury for 12 years and always heard rave reviews from a myriad of people- so, of course, I had to check it ou for myself. It was a Sunday night, fairly steady- The staff was attentive, almost too attentive, as if they were overstaffed or something. The food was good (pasta fra diablo) not as phenomal... More

This is the only perk of living in Danbury to be honest. The best lasagna you'll possibly ever have (and yes i've had numerous lasagnas from various restaurants). I've had $5 lasagnas to $25 ones and nothing tops what you'll have at Augie's. Their pizza is good but nothing incredible, if you come here, make sure you get the pastas,... More

You can always count on a good meal for reasonable price at augies. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu whether it's pizza or shrimp parmesan. The fried calamari is very good as is the eggplant. Also grace for a weekday night pizza. This is not a New York City restaurant but it is one of the best in... More

The point of this review is to keep searching for a place that is outstanding. We eat at Augie's last night because it was rated the #1 in Italian Restaurant in Danbury. There are lots of Italian restaurants in the area. The food and service were good. The portions are large, tasty and reasonably priced for typical neighborhood restaurant, $50... More

Planned a meal here today because it was centrally located for family and because of the Trip Advisor reviews. Very pleased! Old school homemade dishes, red sauce style. Very good service, we were not rushed, incredibly reasonable prices. Also GREAT acoustics, not noisy at all. My son especially liked the Shrimp Parmesan, and I had Pasta with Mushroom Sauce and... The aged decor doesn't detract from the superb service and above average tasty selections. Won't walk out hungry. The pizza is above average and the salad fresh and crisp. Locals know a good thing and patronize this place regularly. Ate there regularly when my office was in Danbury and miss the consistently good food.

Augie's seems to do it right. We ordered chicken parm dinners last night and their chicken parm was very good. The pastas was not overcooked. The cheese was real cheese, not oily. The chicken was well done and their sauce was homemade. I find their sauce a bit sweet for my taste but it was still very good. We also... More

First visit to this "local favorite" for all things Italian. Small antipasto salad was fresh and delicious with all your favs included. We joked with waitress "I'd hate to see the LARGE!" And it was a sample of things to come, as when my Veal Parmesan cutlet filled a whole dinner plate with a bowl of linguine for a side,... More

I love the casual family atmosphere of this restaurant. I've eaten here many times and have never been disappointed! The food is delicious. I get two meals out of every entrée. Prices are reasonable. The wait staff is very welcoming. Even when the restaurant is full to capacity, it's not very noisy. You can easily enjoy a conversation with your... More
