A Cheshire tradition

I have stopped by Blackie's several times over the years when I am in the area. The hot dogs are great. I like their hot pepper relish. Friendly staff

Blackies has been here forever at the top of the hill on route 70 in Cheshire. The dogs are small and inexpensive and ok though I have had many better ones over the years like the famous split dogs in Savin Rock. Their special relish is apparently loved by many though I can live without it and would opt for... More

As mentioned by previous reviewers, Blackie's is a gem of a place that has been around for a rather long time. It is near the Cheshire - Waterbury line and sits just off Route 84. The service is friendly and fast and the Hot Dog's are tasty. I bet you can't have just one! Is this the best hot dog... More

This is a place like few others. They are famous for hotdogs with the relish which is great. But the whole place is very cool and seems to have been like that for at least the last 75 years. Really cool, try it!

Blackie's is a Waterbury institution. If you are a fan of tube steak, this is the place for you. Basic but great menu. Amazing relish for your dogs. Warmer weather, they open the garage doors. Great food as cheap prices.

I know, just hot dogs. But, too many places can mess up a good thing. Blackies consistently makes a great dog, has an excellent homemade pepper relish which goes great with their unique mustard.

For decades we've enjoyed the Blackie's tradition - 3 dogs and a birch beer. This place looks like a converted old tyme gas station that was converted to host sock hops and poodle skirts. The real thing, not a retro look, this is all genuine. The dogs are great, their special spicy relish with the brown mustard takes them to... More

hot dogs are ok. . nice local place to go for a hotdog but i wouldn't knock myself out to go there. get a bunch of hummels, and fry them in vegetable oil and you have blackies basically. this is a local hangout with the same people going all the time

Best hot dogs with their own home-made relish. Every time we go to Waterbury it is a must to stop in at Blackie's for their hot dogs. Still looks like it did when it first opened years ago. Always clean with personable staff
