An old-time experience

The facility and menu harken back to an earlier, simpler time. Good dogs and cheeseburgers; excellent shakes. A great local place to fill a whole in both your psyche and your gut.

These dogs go down real easy. The relish is a must. Very famous in Waterbury and CT. Still has the old time charm but clean inside.

Came here as I had an appointment not that far and was hungry. Customer service in the place was great. Hotdog was a good classic American dog. Would stop here again.

Antiquity of Blackies is the best reason to visit not so sure if hot dogs taste as good as the memory of visiting on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon to culminate a visit to the beach at any rate this is definitely a Cheshire icon!

A small hole in the wall. Fast service, no nonsense, but amazing relish and spicy mustard on dogs. Diet root beer option was a bonus! Must try if you ever find yourself in the area.

Black use had been around for years, best hot dogs and homemade spicy relish. Still closed on Fridays to observe the old Catholic rule of not eating meat on Friday

You can read all the great things about Blackie's here, so I won't comment. But I would like to relay a conversation: A dad with his 6 year old: "When I was six my dad brought me here" Overhearing this I chuckled. Dad turned to me with a quizzical look, Me: "When I was six my older brothers took me... More

Hotdogs and their special relish! That is why you go to Blackie's. Do you want a hotdog that is fresh and snaps when you bit into it? Do you want a home-made relish that I've never seen duplicated? Then stop in to Blackie's for a dog and birchbeer! If you don't have the time to sit and eat they do... More

Simple, simple, simple....and delicious. Walk through garage doors for a hot dog with homemade relish and you won't be disappointed! No sides for sale except chips but somehow that's ok. You'll be back even without frills! Oh, remember cash they don't take credit cards.
