Sublime, superb, superior in every way

Quite possibly the best afternoon of relaxation I've spent this year. Sitting on the deck with a book, followed by an apperitif and then a farm fresh lunch in a rustic and historic barn, with antiques galore. Go there, drive there make the trip...its so worth it.

The Golden Lamb Buttery is a not-to-be-missed experience in Brooklyn, CT. When you are arrive, you are welcomed into an old barn, which serves as the venue for cocktails and appetizers before dinner. Thereafter, you are free to sit out on the balcony overlooking the rolling green hills dotted with sheep. It is truly a beautiful site! One of my... More

We visited the Golden Lamb Buttery yesterday evening for my birthday not sure exactly what to expect but with high hopes. We were blown away. The setting is gorgeous, the barn is magnificent the grounds are beautiful.. just couldn't ask for more. From the minute we got our special drinks to the hayride and the guitar serenade all wonderful. We... More

It doesn't get much better than having lunch on the deck of the Golden Lamb Buttery on a beautiful August afternoon. The views of the pasture land and the farm animals set the stage for a wonderful and relaxing lunch. We both started with cold soups. ..borscht and pear/pineapple. Both were very good. I had the seared tuna with salad... More

We saw an advertisement for Golden Lamb Buttery's Theater in the Barn. We had eaten here once before and were quite pleased. We have friends from a nearby state who love theater productions. We made our reservations and attended on a Thursday evening. The show, "Shooting Star" by Steven Dietz, was offered on Wednesday and Thursday evenings for three weeks... More

Many of the other reviewers have been frequenting GLB for decades. The property is magnificent, bucolic and pastoral. Be prepared to take great photos. The website is a great place to begin your visit. The hayride and the guitar accompaniment are nice touches. Much of the barn floor is uneven and requires careful navigation. But we go for the food:... More

I've been here several times for business lunches and romantic dinners. Whatever the occasion, it never disappoints. The food is always wonderful and the surroundings so interesting. I could spend many hours just perusing what's on the walls in the converted barn. Give it a try, I guarantee you'll love it.

The golden lamb is absolutely beautiful. The food is amazing and if you go home hungry it is your own fault. The portions are large and they offer many side options. The whole experience is terrific!

We enjoyed our NewYear's Eve celebration at the Golden Lamb Buttery. The evening began with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres followed by a hayride. We were led to our table and were given a selection of soups or salad and five tasty entrees to choose from (I chose the duck). In addition to the sides included with the entrees, this meal... More

We were celebrating our 46th anniversary and my wife's birthday and the Golden Lamb was our first thought. This is our go to place for special nights. The night was unseasonably cold so we passed on the hay ride. We had cocktails in the barn and were seated at our table. The menu is limited but we have never been... More
