A special place for a special nite

We were celebrating our 46th anniversary and my wife's birthday and the Golden Lamb was our first thought. This is our go to place for special nights. The night was unseasonably cold so we passed on the hay ride. We had cocktails in the barn and were seated at our table. The menu is limited but we... read more

We visited the Buttery, we heard voices but did not see anyone. We walked through the entire barn , past the restaurant to the back door which overlooked a pasture of donkeys. I did not see one lamb. And that is why we went, we entered and left without one person noticing us.

Yes, we are open but not every day of the week. We serve lunch Thursday - Saturday and dinner on Friday and Saturday evenings. It sounds like you stopped by on a day that we were closed. We've had cleaning staff and painters here the past couple of days which would explain the voices you heard. We do have 3... More

We celebrated New Years Eve here. We started with appetizers in the barn which is not heated - you could see your breath it was so chilly. We had a tractor ride with Christmas carols being sung by all. It was a quick ride around the house. We enjoyed our seats upstairs in the loft for dinner. The chateaubriand was... More

We dined her for our 25th anniversary on a friend's recommendation and are glad we did. The restaurant is set on 1,000 beautiful acres (we saw sheep and mini donkeys on the property) and it really is a magnificent setting. We arrived at the restaurant (which is on the Register of Historic Places), ordered a cocktail (and our entree) and... More

My wife and I have been going to the Golden Lamb Buttery for several years now and we completely enjoy it for special occasions and celebrations. The first challenge is finding this remodeled barn in the middle of nowhere CT. Thats really not too important when most of us have a GPS to find places. The GLB is located in... More

The Golden Lamb Buttery is a gem. Set in a large, rustic barn, this restaurant is so charming. It sits on a hill with gorgeous views of rolling fields, grazing animals and a sparkling pond. It's hard to believe that though rustic, this restaurant is also elegant! If the weather is right, you can sit on the deck to take in... More

So, what's not to like about the Golden Lamb Buttery? Situated on the crest of a rolling hill in Brooklyn, CT...nestled in 1500 acres of shear stunning natural beauty, these folks could serve candied gnats to applause...but no gnats on THEIR menu. Instead a handsome series of choices you won't find typically anywhere (no hamburgers, mac and cheese, spaghetti and... More

I went to a wedding at the Golden Lamb Buttery last weekend. There are a lot of quirks to the place that are quite charming. The meal was buffet style, but everything was delicious, especially the almond chicken. Service was excellent as well. I just wish the weather had been nicer so we could have enjoyed the grounds more! The... More

Brooklyn CT looks exactly like somewhere in Yorkshire, England: drystone walls, rolling fields, fat sheep grazing and stark leafless trees. This is a very popular place since it started in 1963 on a family farm formerly famous for it's textile weaving. It feels like you are visiting friends as you walk through the kitchen to the dining room. It's cozy... More

We went for the first time with another couple and had a great time. The dining rooms are along the sides of a converted barn. Lots of old newspaper articles and history of the farm and restaurant. 2013 was their 50th anniversary. The scenery was beautiful and very peaceful. We had drinks overlooking the horse paddock. Before dinner there is... More
