We bought a Groupon for 4 For Captains Cove Restaurant in Bridgeport, Ct. It had to be used exclusively for a complete fish and chips dinner or lunch. Each person got 2 pieces of fish fried in a delicious crisp batter, cole slaw, a huge portion of unbelievably delicious french fries and a soda. The cost for the complete 4... More

My husband had the fish and chips. I had the fried shrimp. I liked the batter on my husband's fish better. The fries were good and the coleslaw didn't look appetizing but was tasty. The view was great! We were there about 2 PM on a Saturday and there was no line to order and plenty of tables.

My sweetheart and I went to Captain's Cove last night to take advantage of the nice evening near the water. I orderd fried clams and a chili dog while she ordered a chili dog and a regular. It was not very crowded but the orders took well over 10 minutes to come on the tray. The fried clams were decent,... More

Excellent place to go and listen to live music, enjoy the water some drinks and some dancing. Food was almost average. "Whole Fried Clams"? NOT...half of the 20$ side dish were necks and the belly clams were TINY and DIRTY... again I am not a fan of prepackaged tartar sauce. 25c for extra? The Clam Chowdah was descent. The Stuffed... He have made this our annual gathering place for Fathers day, however, this year was not that great. The line to order food was so long that it took 30 mins. or more to get to the counter! Even then, there were only two cash register and they need someone to direct the flow of the lines. After you wait... More

I had been going to this place for over 15 years and I am disapointed to say that the food quality and value has gone down. We went there last night and waited a while for our food and will not be returning for food ever again. The atmosphere and bar was good. I could not recommend this place to... More

We had a nice time here, as it is great to sit on their deck and overlook the bay while eating. The food is exactly what you would expect (lots of fried items - most probably previously frozen - like the clam strips, shrimp, etc). It would be a little nicer if they used more fresh local seafood, but all... More

Went here on a reccomendation on a local TV spotlight. It was a cloudy Saturday with some sprinkles of rain (not a washout) 95% of the stores on the boadwalk were closed (it was 2pm) so that was a little dissapointing. The food was over priced had the Captain's Platter for $25.00 and it contained 2 nice good tasting pieces... More

Its a very nice place with beautiful scenery (see photos) but the food is overpriced and frozen. If you don't mind frozen - pre breaded seafood then this will surely please your palate. Not mine though. Worth the scenery only. I would recommend to experience once for the view :)
