Great place for small kids.

Basic deep fried fish. Counter service, eat on deck. Deck contains numerous curiosities that the kids loved, including small boats, amusement park mirrors, & fishing memorabilia. Wednesday fish specials. Best viewing from second floor bar deck.

An average seafood outdoor/ indoor restaurant . More of a fast food seafood type of eatery. Nothing special regarding the taste of the food. Mostly fried with a little too much batter. The price exceeded the quantity or quality. Did not like having to stand in line to order and then waiting in line or standing around for the food.... More

Stopped here after reading the reviews. The parking lot was completely packed which is usually a good sign and this time it held true. The location (other than getting there which could be sketchy at night) is great. Once in the parking lot there is no worries tho. The deck is right on a marina that's full of boats to... More

I come from the United Kingdom GB, home of fish and chips, so I was delighted to hear there was a fish and chips place close to where I was staying in Fairfield CT. When I visited captain cove fish restaurant I found the fish under cooked, the batter was very thick and teasted like bread dough. If you like... More

This place is great for families, couples and mature adults. The food is good- I love the cove crab roll. They have a bar upstairs with nice relaxing atmosphere. They have entertainment and cute little shops on the water. Most shops close at like 5 so if you go at lunch you can browse the shops. They have a marina... More

We bought a Groupon for 4 For Captains Cove Restaurant in Bridgeport, Ct. It had to be used exclusively for a complete fish and chips dinner or lunch. Each person got 2 pieces of fish fried in a delicious crisp batter, cole slaw, a huge portion of unbelievably delicious french fries and a soda. The cost for the complete 4... More

My husband had the fish and chips. I had the fried shrimp. I liked the batter on my husband's fish better. The fries were good and the coleslaw didn't look appetizing but was tasty. The view was great! We were there about 2 PM on a Saturday and there was no line to order and plenty of tables.

My sweetheart and I went to Captain's Cove last night to take advantage of the nice evening near the water. I orderd fried clams and a chili dog while she ordered a chili dog and a regular. It was not very crowded but the orders took well over 10 minutes to come on the tray. The fried clams were decent,... More

Excellent place to go and listen to live music, enjoy the water some drinks and some dancing. Food was almost average. "Whole Fried Clams"? NOT...half of the 20$ side dish were necks and the belly clams were TINY and DIRTY... again I am not a fan of prepackaged tartar sauce. 25c for extra? The Clam Chowdah was descent. The Stuffed... He have made this our annual gathering place for Fathers day, however, this year was not that great. The line to order food was so long that it took 30 mins. or more to get to the counter! Even then, there were only two cash register and they need someone to direct the flow of the lines. After you wait... More
