Went for a casual dinner with family. We all ordered sandwiches and split a calamari appetizer- portion size was on the smaller size. We had no drinks. The bill with tip was $90.00. The food and service were quite good but the prices were high for what we ordered.

Worst wait staff around. They acted better than me and took forever to bring me a simple cocktail off the menu... Food was just eh, seafood was too fishy, not fresh...... Great harbor views but would not return.

We were visiting relatives in Madison and they said we have to have at least one meal at Nellie's, they were so right. The clam chowder was delicate and full of flavor. My wife had the lobster toasted cheese sandwich was simply outstanding...full of lobster chunks and delicious cheese. Hidden in the boatyard, it is well worth the effort to... More

Recently we paid a visit with friends to Nellie Green's, a restaurant recommended to us in the Branford area. The fact that we were to visit twice in the space of a couple of weeks speaks volumes about the food, the staff and the atmosphere. On our first visit, we were introduced to the glories of the scallops, the golden... More

One would never find this location unless he or she knew it was there--but it's absolutely worth the effort. Beautiful setting and, more importantly, excellent food and drink. Very diverse and creative menu. Sea food, of course, but other interesting dishes such as wild game sausage. Friendly wait staff.

We love eating out on the deck w/a view of the river on a warm summer night. Great salads, fish tacos, and burgers.

We've liked Nellie Green's for some time now. Last night chef Aaron outdid his normally fine kitchen. We enjoyed a multi-course special game dinner he prepared for a wine-pairing event. I can't single out one item as better than the others because the meal was flat-out perfect from the parsnip puree soup to a dessert Aaron introduced as a deconstructed... More

Nellie Green's is a little hard to find, but well worth the trip. The service and atmosphere were great, and the menu had many great options. I had the fish tacos, and was pleased with my selection. The sweet potato fries were good too. Worth a try if you're in the New Haven area.

Eight of us went here for lunch after kayaking and we all had really good food. They offer indoor and outdoor seating so on a nice day sit out on the patio. The service was really good and the food was A+. The atmosphere is nice and relaxing. It's located behind an old manufacturing building so don't be put off... More
