Description

hen we eat out. Augie's surpassed my standards. Augie's is 100% worth any amount of gas you spend finding this true hidden gem of a restaurant. Every dish we ordered made us blissfully happily. We began with the rice balls, previously mentioned by other reviewers. They were exceptional....by far the best we have ever tasted. My husband, of Italian decent and hailing from NY, grew up with them. Augie's was so good, it would make an Italian weep. Forget your grandmother's rice balls, try Augie's. Your eyes will roll to the back of your head with glee. The plating of our dishes was visually appealing. More importantly, once the first forkful enters your mouth, your palate can't help but sing! Whereas, many restaurants think if you load up on a single herb/ spice, the dish is done, Augie demonstrates he is a master in this category. The most arresting flavors of each dish were beautifully captured! No globs of garlic, butter or bacon here. There is a parking lot next to the restaurant. It is a small place, but its size underscores the meal you order, has the full attention of the kitchen. They don't deliver food to your table, they present gifts. Augie's is indeed a destination for those who seek to celebrate imaginative and exquisitely prepared food for a very reasonable price.
