My husband is obsessed with this restaurant. We've enjoyed it twice now, and despite my original reservations, I have to say the schnitzel is delicious and tender. The various wursts are great as well, and the beer selection is wonderful (the beers themselves are ridiculously plentiful as well). The real highlight is the Biergarten, which is the perfect place to... More

We decided to try out a new place to eat for my husband's birthday and german food sounded fun and different. We all met there and sat outside. We were greeted by Hilda and she was really friendly and made us all feel very comfortable. The food was amazing. We sampled the sausages and all of the appetizers. The beer... More

This was our 3rd visit to Old Heidelberg, and it confirmed what we experienced on our other two visits. The beer selection is really good, the ambiance as authentic as you can get on this side of the Atlantic. The food always depends on what you order. The Bratwurst were excellent, as always. We shall be back - hopefully in... More

We've enjoyed dining at Old Heidelberg many times, but I am forced to report that last Father's Day was one of our worst restaurant experiences anywhere, at any time. We finally left after 90 minutes, still not having been served. In that time, five different dining room personnel appeared at our table, to little or no effect. Our spaetzle with... More

The food is wonderful! The service and ambiance are almost as good as the food. I have eaten here a few times and it is consistent. The Octoberfest is a fun time which I will visit every year.

Decided to try this restaurant despite uneven reviews previously posted here. Not disappointed in any way. Delightful ambiance; good, friendly service; dishes we tried were uniformly very good. Sausage platter is hard to mess up, but the Wursts were first class; mashed potatoes perhaps a little lumpy, and in need of some butter; kraut excellent. Schnitzel a la Holstein was... More

This was our 3rd visit to Old Heidelberg, and it confirmed what we experienced on our other two visits. The beer selection is really good, the ambiance as authentic as you can get on this side of the Atlantic (especially when the Biergarten outside is open), but the food is hit or miss. My Gurkensalat (cucumber salad) and the Wiener... More

Greasy, mediocre food that appears, and tastes, like it is pre-made and nuked. Went twice just to be sure we were not judging it incorrectly. Trust me - avoid this place.

Went here with a large group of frinds and had a great time. A friend is a regular here - and she was always telling me to check it out - glad I finally did as I will be back - it's definately a keeper. The service was attentive and very good, the atmosphere was great - really felt like... More

My wife and I went here for the Tuesday buffet. Be advised that they don't have a regular menu on Tuesdays and the buffet is about $27 a person. There were a variety of chicken pork and sausage dishes as well as plenty of sides (potato pancakes, sauerkraut, cabbage). To top it off, they had a Bavarian chocolate cake for... More
