I've been to the Hungry Bear many times. It is an icon in Woodland Park. The food and coffee is consistantly excellent as well as the service. All manner of waffles, pancakes, breakfast burritos with your choice of sauces including their exceptional green chile. Biscuits and gravy, steak and eggs - all delicious and hot. This restaurant is a joke. If you want a greasy spoon that serves sub-standard fare, you have found your mecca. The china and silverware are pieces of multiple sets, and the coffe is swill. The pancakes were OK, but the rest was below the quality of Denny's or the Waffle House. more

Our family enjoyed two meals at the Hungry Bear in Woodland Park, CO. My husband said "Why didn't we come here sooner". They are only open for breakfast and lunch, 6:00 am to 2pm.
