Great Cajun find in a Mt town

Food was fantastic. If it is a holiday you might want to get a reservation a few days ahead. We did not do that but they sneaked us in between a few reservations since there was only 2 of us. All employees were polite. Worth stopping in if you like seafood.

First, why would I think that a seafood restaraunt smack in the middle of the mountains would be good? I must have been oxygen deprived. The apps were decent, but the three of us in our party all agreed the entrees sucked. Maybe because by that point we had already filled up on apps and bread and were no longer... More

First off, I was pleasantly surprised to find a place that claimed cajun in Winter Park, and was even more surprised at how excellent my experience was, for both dinner and jazz brunch! When we walked in the door, we were greeted and promptly sat in a lively but not crowded room. Fontenot's maintains the cajun atmosphere without feeling disturbing.... More

Enjoyed a wonderful meal at Fontenot's Seafood and Grill after a day of skiing. It's on the higher end of the dining scale. The waitress was friendly and helpful and the food was above average. We shared the fried green tomatoes, ochre, and Andouille sausage and barbeque shrimp appetizers, both were very good especially with the French bread. It's not... More

We ate at Fontenot’s twice during our 4 day stay and ski in Winter Park. We loved it so much, we had to come back before leaving! The staff is warm and welcoming, as soon as you walk in the door. Even though they were busy, we were seated immediately, and taken care of as if we were the only... More

After a long, fun day trip to the Winter Park area, we finally found Fontenot's and I am so glad we did!! We were not made to feel like we were sub par people because we didn't have a reservation (the way another restaurant in the area had). Instead, we were treated very nicely and shown excellent service. We have... More

I would first like to preface this with a few comments. 1) I have never submited a review like this before 2) I have been in the food and beverage industry for over 20 years and can not remeber being made to feel the way I did tonight while dining out. This has to be up there as one of... More

Great scallops and ahi. Service is very polite and accomodating. Drinks are strong. Not too happy with beer selection. Martinis are good. Dessert are too sweet. Banana is very syrupy and not recommended. Key lime pie is strong, but the crust is good.

Definitely has earned it's reputation and probably deserves to be ranked higher. Great service, very ample portions, great prices. My wife had the ahi tuna and I had the Atchafalaya catfish -- both exceeded expectations. The calamari appetizer was also most tasty and has a great presentation.

This was recommended and didn't disappoint. The decor inside looks like a street scene in New Orleans and is impressive, the only small improvement I would make is that the dining room gives the appearance of a school hall dining room - it could do with furniture to break it up, eg movable partitions. The food was also impressive. Seafood... More
